I sit second row behind Rask and probably saw this game like Radk and Miller was the best

Ironically my kid said the same thing - former state champ and HS captain so she knows a bit about game

Colin Miller to ne was the best pldyer on ice 100% serious

He was good today, he's has a low bar for me. Lets hope he doesn't follow the same pattern of stinking out the joint after a few good games.

Little bit better than the Kings game I went to last year...9-2 ass kicking. Although I got to see Looch's return and it was my first time in a suite so...I guess it was ok.

DuPont for years railed we should get Moore.

I thought he was trolling. He wasn't

Blidh is something else - I'm not kidding. He's my permanent 4th line LW. His heart and determination are noteworthy. I got to give to Claude for realizing it and going with him.

His menacing antics is something we desperately need in the bottom 6. He belongs.

I've liked Blidh in his time up with the Bs. As I said in a thread of a previous game, Blidh tries to make things happens. He's not just out there eating up minutes here and there. Kid has speed, toughness, and some skill. Seems to have a bit of a pest in him as well. I hope he gets an extended look.

Colin Miller was showing shades of PK Subban & Mike Greene on the PP today. He looked so hungry for the puck & had his stick cocked looking for the slapper whenever he was open.

So was Chiller just amped to play his ex-team, or maybe regular games are past his bedtime...

He's had a few good games recently. I'm not sold on him yet, but I'm willing to give him his props.

Or at least, I'm not going to run him out of town.

The view from Los Angeles

http://www.latimes.com/sports/kings/la-sp-kings-bruins-elliott-20161218-story.html

The consensus among the Kings was that they didn’t get enough shots through the Boston Bruins’ staunch defense Sunday afternoon, and that was unarguably true. The Kings mustered a season-low 18 shots on goaltender Tuukka Rask and had 20 other shots blocked by the Bruins, who got an early lead on a deflection by Jimmy Hayes and held on for a 1-0 victory at TD Garden.

But one verbal shot did get through, and it came from Coach Darryl Sutter in explaining why he held a healthy Marian Gaborik out of the lineup.

Gaborik had scored only one goal and had taken 21 shots in nine games since he recovered from a broken foot, and Sutter had recently reduced his ice time. Scratching Gaborik on Sunday, a day the Kings were without Dustin Brown because of an apparent minor upper-body injury and could have used some scoring threats, sent an unmistakable message that Sutter will tolerate nothing less than an all-out effort all the time.

“It was a coach’s decision. We have that right in the locker room as players and coaches to have high expectations of players in terms of how they play,†Sutter said of not deploying the 34-year-old Slovakian winger, who carries a salary cap hit of $4.875 million and last season scored only 12 goals in 54 games.

Sutter praised his players’ strong effort Sunday in their fourth game in less than six days in four cities. Everyone played their butts off, he said, or something close to that.

“Guys that don’t, got to rest. Guys that do, got to play again today and they left it all out there,†said Sutter, who inserted Devin Setoguchi and Andy Andreoff into the lineup in place of Gaborik and Brown.

The team has been very good defensively. Rarely do we see any odd man rushes.

C. Miller is finally playing with the confidence that he started last season with...except this time around he is making smart decisions in all areas of the ice.

K.Miller is the Bruins most under-rated player. He shows up every game ready to battle. He wins most of his puck battles, is good at keeping the puck in the O-zone with his pinches, he is tough as nails, his like a truck.

Backes seems to be getting better and better, a simple game, a smart game. maybe the best player on the Bruinsat getting the puck along the boards in his own end and making a quick play to get it out, whether by chip, reverse pass, indirect into open area or simply one touching it to his teammate. i don't like the 5 year deal, but i do like year 1 so far.

Backes has been very good the past week or so.

I've come to notice that he's much more a playmaker than he is a goal-scorer. He's not a "tread-the-needle" type, but he makes simple, sound plays and the right play more often than not.

But he's not a shooter at all.

And given that neither is Krejci or Spooner, it's not surprising now that I understand what type of player Backes is a little better, why that line hasn't really gelled.

Hopefully Vatrano can lay a solid claim to that LW spot if/when he returns.

Backes has never been a shooter; he's been mostly a gritty goal guy who can put pucks on net, but usually of the snapshot/bang at rebounds/tips on net variety. That's the majority of his shots on net repertoire over his career.

This also explains why Backes worked so well with Marchand and Pasta while Bergy was out.

I think the problem many have with Backes is they have grown up in fantasy sports and/or never been part of a team so they don't grasp all he does

Loui's a much better fit in fantasy but Backes in reality

I feel bad that I wasted my time watching this snooze fest yesterday. This is the type of hockey that makes fans of the game tune out. I know we won, but I would rather lose an entertaining game, than win a snoozer. The only way this game is going to grow, is if the on-ice product is entertaining.

I agree, but those 2 points were big. Had to expect a bad game when looking at that forward group. Getting Pasta and Vatrano in the line up will hopefully increase the entertainment value.

Wow. Couldn't disagree more with this.

The only way this game is going to grow, is if the on-ice product is entertaining.

I would rather win 10 cups in a row playing "boring" hockey than not win any playing what some might refer to as "entertaining" hockey. I could care less if the game grows or not if my team is winning.
