Yes, quite talented. I enjoy when he carries the puck. He uses his long reach to his advantage and reads quite well to either dump in or carry it in.
I really like the way Lohrei carries the puck (especially in the offensive zone and on the PP), although he does need to improve his play in the defensive zone ..but I think he just needs more playing time in the NHL and he'll only get better

I'd really like to see him on PP1 more often as he's not afraid to shoot from the point which makes the PP more dangerous

Braz is another player I'd like to see on PP1 more often

PP2 isn’t actually effective. You are right they force to Pasta. But it’s because they have a lack of options. They lost Krug’s shot (althouh his shot had been leaving him before he left the team). Then they lost Bergeron in the bumper. And while DeBrusk was by no means elite as the net front, they lost that, too.

#88 has been staying out a often with PP2.

Power play goals:

Pasta - 4 PP1
Brazeau - 3 PP2
Coyle -3 PP2
Marchand - 2
Lindholm - 1
McAvoy - 1
Frederic - 1

McAvoy has 2 PP assists. Lohrei has 5.

Consider that PP1 gets 3 times as much PP time, I'd say PP2 has been quite effective.

I think there is a difference here between better and good. And luck! Why is the team shooting 6% with McAvoy on the PP and 15% with Lorhei? And why did it shoot 12% with McAvoy last year?

Also want to point out that the team has allowed three shorties with McAvoy on the bench and one with him on the ice. That’s a lot of goals allowed in such limited minutes.

Taking bad shots that get blocked also has consequences. I’m not arguing the PP1 has been anything but a shit show. But PP2 hasn’t been good either.

Injury. Hope it's not concussion related

I think he's got post concussion issues again. I can't think of a better explanation for his play.

Stop with this excuse, he's just not good

No, he played well last season. He got rocked earlier this season and I think he's got post concussion issues.

Then you either sit him so he doesn't Ondrej Kase himself, or you move him.

After a stressful week and so ready for a break, I thought last night Pasta (or another game this week), on the PP tried a one-timer and looked in massive pain. If upper body injury really manifests with issues taking slap shots, here's where Wahlstrom can come in and play that role and Pasta can snap wrist shots, which don't appear to impact him as much.

Better 3rd period. Brazz and Tfred seem to be weakest links lately so slot Wahstrom in for one of them.

I keep saying it, Oesterle is solid.

I disagree, he hasn't played well since his rookie season. He has had some very good stretches of games but otherwise mediocre at best,

Need to move him if we can find a partner, not saying just give him away but use him in a hockey trade.
