GDT: Game #33 Dec. 29 Toronto @ Columbus

Well you do have to give him few opportunities to find his game
He did earn that much, Sammy was decent last year and was our starter that won us a series in like 20 years
 
Benoit and Lagesson is what we've needed our 3rd pair to look like for ages. Don't mind rotating Gio in when needed, between those two.

We fannied around for so many years with the Alex Kerfoot's of the D world on our 3rd pair.

Edmonton had the balls to send Campbell to the minors. It turned their season around.

Wtf is Trev waiting for FFS. Sammy has no confidence whatsoever.

Bring up Wildebeest. I'm sure he's hungry to prove himself until Woll gets back.

I'm not on board with calling up Hildeby. Let him adjust and hopefully play well in the AHL for an extended period before calling him up. Just deal with the Samsonov issue somehow. Sign Halak, or anyone really.

1 shot against in the first 12 minutes.
2nd shot went in.


Its impossible to play that way

Campbell also sucked last year, hence it was an easier decision
Not so in our case, we have an injured goalie. Edmonton didn't either

Then Toronto can bring up a different goalie, but they can't keep giving Sammy starts because he is god awful

He’s a double overager with a ton of pro experience, it’s not the same as an 17 year old getting drafted 2 years ago.

It says a lot about the Atlantic division that the Leafs will be 4 points out of first place after this game.
 
Yeah sure, blame the goalie. Did they mention anything about the defensive breakdowns or the pitiful marking on any of the goals? What is Samsonov supposed to do when players blow their coverage and the opposition has free looks?

What do the meathead analysts think the solution to our goalie problems are? Goalie problems that are experienced by maybe 95 percent of the teams in this league. Is there a Dominik Hasek or Ed Belfour available somewhere?

I am not defending Samsonov either, he has been poor compared to last season, but having the media (that is owned by the team no less) go on constant tirades against this guy is just embarrassing at this point.

Another thing, I am sick and tired of failed former players and management that transitioned into the media constantly bashing this team. What did Kypreos accomplish with the Toronto Maple Leafs? O'Neill? Frankie Corrado? Brian Burke? Give me a break. The toxicity around this team makes watching professional hockey unbearable.
