What's your excuse?
I stream TSN using a TV provider login and the quality is usually great. I haven't had cable since 2015 and I definitely don't miss it, there's no way I'll ever consider going back.

I'm baffled at hearing this.

A TSN online login is $240 a year - I get twice the reliability and stream quality on onesoccer - which is seven bucks a month - and they doesn't have the absolute GAL to give me ADVERTISMENTS on a premium service. (Not normal ads in stream, but pre-stream loading ads) - They even insert ads into their archived content.

OneSoccer also has a 10-times better archive system. And if you listen to Soccer fans, they hate OneSoccer.

That's not even comparing TSN to things like Fite.tv, which has incredibly quality, and the ability to pick up an event partway through at the beginning, top quality even if you have a shitty internet connection and a test stream to see if you are properly able to handle their video service.

I have the same reliability with illegally streaming over the years that I do with TSN.

I couldn't find any ways to watch Jets games on my Roku TV other than some obscure $50+ per month streaming services that had a whole bunch of stuff that I don't need. No TSN app available. I'm willing to pay to watch NHL games, like I pay DAZN $25/mo to watch NFL games (note: it's a fantastic service), but there's still no way to reliably watch in-market NHL games at a reasonable price. And they wonder why we use dubious outlets..

If I remember right TSN uses an off the shelf video player that's made with DRM as the first concern. It took Adobe Flash getting completely deprecated for them to finally move to a more modern player. They really don't care if your stream quality is poor as long as you can't record it.
Both Sportsnet/Rogers and TSN/Bell have lost the plot when it comes to streaming, but as you said it's probably because they don't want it to be a viable alternative.

It's kind of a problem when they have a stake in both the production of the broadcast (TSN/Bell and crew) and the distribution (internet or TV provider). They want your eyeballs on the more valuable product, ie. television contract.

Edit to add: Sportsnet+ is even worse than TSN Go if you can believe that.
