"Well folks, we know that most birds can fly, but the last ten games for both the Red Wings and the Ducks have made them each look like they've taken a blast of double-ought to the primaries. Anaheim's last game showed that they still have a few beats left in them, and tonight Detroit is getting their captain back, so they ought to be able to make a good game of it. Ducks' fans are going to be looking to extend their 1 game win streak, and Wings' fans are going to be hoping that Lady Luck in her flat-bottomed boat is too busy reloading her shells and ginger ales to get a good bead on anyone tonight."

I don't like Raymond coming off PP1. Team's best playmaker this season tbh. I'm still not sold on this iteration of Kane.

I kind of like those lines. I know DCat and Kane are supposed to be “magic” together, but our system and the complementary personnel dont seem to play to their strengths. These lines spreads the offense a bit, while keeping our “smurfs” spread out to make puck retreival (and team defense ;)) more viable on the top two lines.

Im guessing that is why Sprong and Fabbri arent both on the third line as well. Neither are known for their high end backchecking/defense.

When we first got Kane, this is what I predicted when everyone is healthy:

Fabbri - Larkin - Raymond
DeBrincat - Compher - Kane
Rasmussen - Copp - Perron
Kostin - Veleno - Sprong

Id like to see that when Perron comes back. Obviously, with the personnel we have, there are almost endless combinations the coach can try.

For example, I would like to see Sprong opposite Kane so he can bury some of the incredible passes Kane pulls of, etc…

I don't know why we don't go DBC Larkin Kane. DBC and Kane have chemistry together and Larkin and Cat have also looked good together. Seems like playing these guys together might get one of them going.

DBC Larkin Kane
Fabbri Compher Raymond

As the top 2 seems like they could work well.

Positive news to see Larkin back in the lineup tonight. I hope he's actually feeling fine.

Time to turn this ship around, boys. Get the win!

Did we hear what exactly happened with Lyon? My first thought was pulled groin but he was grabbing his hip.

He was being kind of weird during his media availability. He didn't know how much the coaching staff wants him to reveal.

The gist of it is he fell weird and felt something new and got scared. He thought it was something much worse than what it ended up being. Lyon thinks he's good to go back on ice full time this week but then Lalonde in his media availability was like, "nah he's not going to be on the ice this week we don't know if he's gotta go on IR." Clearly they haven't talked to each other.
