I kind of like those lines. I know DCat and Kane are supposed to be “magic” together, but our system and the complementary personnel dont seem to play to their strengths. These lines spreads the offense a bit, while keeping our “smurfs” spread out to make puck retreival (and team defense
) more viable on the top two lines.
Im guessing that is why Sprong and Fabbri arent both on the third line as well. Neither are known for their high end backchecking/defense.
When we first got Kane, this is what I predicted when everyone is healthy:
Fabbri - Larkin - Raymond
DeBrincat - Compher - Kane
Rasmussen - Copp - Perron
Kostin - Veleno - Sprong
Id like to see that when Perron comes back. Obviously, with the personnel we have, there are almost endless combinations the coach can try.
For example, I would like to see Sprong opposite Kane so he can bury some of the incredible passes Kane pulls of, etc…
