My only positive takeaway is the Wings are learning how to play with Kane. You have to play off of him cuz of his vision and hands. I saw it more in this game than in any other game prior. So hopefully this and cat getting hot means better days ahead.

But ya. Lots of bad shit.

Seider is better at every part of the game than Ghost. It is clear this team is limiting his ice time for contractual reasons. All of Seider offensive underlying stats are better than Ghost.

Same with Raymond. He is consistently a top 3 player for this team every game and gets no ice time. Coaching is a big reason we are losing games in addition to dog shit defenseman like Petry getting top pairing minutes.
Guys I love Mo, bought his Jersey ha... but if people seriously believe they aren't playing Mo because of his contract... That's Qanon stuff jeez guys

That's a dangerous f***ing game. Why sign long term with a team that would rather f*** with financials than ice the best team?
I agree it's a dangerous game, but I can't understand it any other way.

Raymond has played his ass off this year, so why is he not on the ie when we are trying to complete a comeback?

JT Compher has been great, but what has he done to warrant time on the 1st PP unit over Raymond? Compher kills penalties, so he'll get his ice time on the PK, so there is no reason he should be on the top unit over Raymond.

I know it sounds crazy, but I truly believe it. I believe Yzerman is trying to lower cap hits by telling Lalonde to limit the minutes for Raymond and Seider.

We’re jsut guessing at explanations. Whatever the reason, it’s not a good one. He’s had some rough games but he is still better than every other defenseman on this team by a massive margin.

Like RedWingzz said above, the same is true of Raymond to an even greater extreme. He should absolutely be on PP1 based on his play. He drives offense and he should be on the ice if we are trying to tie the game.

Is it any better for Lalonde to think that Ghost, Chiarot, Petry are better players that provide a better chance of winning than Mo?

Anyone stopped to consider that maybe we don't want a right handed shot at the blueline at PP1 with a right handed designated shooter?

the problem is when do you fix it, I think we have had 2 practices this month and that's it. Our schedule this month was a death sentence.
True blame the Sweden trip for that but there are no rookies on this team. Adjustments can be made. You just can't continue playing bad hockey and expect to win.

Starting to question the coaching. Things are not getting fixed, like spotting a four goal lead.
The only coaching questions I have is the line deployment. I’m often scratching my head trying to understand why our worst defensive players are lining up for face offs in our own end.

I’ve yet to seen Lalonde use any kind of match ups to his advantage.

Also, why is Compher on the ice at the end of the game. I didn’t think he had a good game at all. Not saying it’s his fault they lost the game, but two horrible passes at the end to mess up momentum when they finally seemed to be cycling the puck around nicely with the empty net.

A similar decision to how Ghost was on the ice last game after having an abysmal game. It’s like Lalonde doesn’t know how to improvise and he just sticks to the game plan whether or not it’s working.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, in a 7 game series. You’ll be lucky to win a game by doing so.

They also outscore their problems, just have more elite offensive players. They give up a ton of goals.
The Leafs are not respected enough on these boards. They have 3 forwards who are each better than all our players, another (Tavares) who’s at Larkin’s level. And on top of that, both Marner and Matthews are elite defensive players.

Lucas Raymond absolutely needs to be on the first powerplay unit, especially when its a 6 on 4 late in a game when we are down by 1.

There are no possible arguments to be made against it, yet Lalonde had his ass on the bench. I wish a reporter would ask him about this, but they won't.

Raymond has been one of our most consistent players this season by far, yet Lalonde still won't play him....why?

Patrick Kane on the phone with his agent right now.

I thought is was in bad taste when Kane sat out while still a Blackhawk as he waited for his trade - eventually to the NYR...I honestly wouldn't blame him if he did the same now.
