If he does not want to make a trade before the holidays…cool. But to wait till after a tournament which ends a week before the deadline is strange. He is a good GM but this team needs help. Make the move.

I guess it may also come down to what the moves are. With them doing the cap savings paper transactions, they may be thinking about taking on bigger cap hits than had previously been talked about here (or their target teams aren't willing to retain).

If they're needing to penny pinch on cap space now despite Seguin's mega deal hitting LTIR, the wait may be about reducing how much of the cap hit the Stars have to absorb because they're taking on so much.
