WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — Mark Scheifele scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Winnipeg Jets to a convincing 8-1 victory over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night.

Nikita Chibrikov, Mason Appleton, Alex Iafallo, Gabriel Vilardi, Kyle Connor and Vladislav Namestnikov scored the other Winnipeg goals.

Scheifele now has a 13-game point streak at home, totaling 20 points in that stretch.

David Pastrnak replied for the Bruins, who had a four-game winning streak snapped.

Connor Hellebuyck made 23 saves for Winnipeg. Jeremy Swayman stopped 27 shots for Boston.

Scheifele scored his second goal of the game, one-timing a perfect setup from Josh Morrissey on a second-period power play, increasing the Winnipeg lead to 3-0.

Namestnikov opened the scoring in the first period with Boston defenseman Brandon Carlo off for four minutes after clipping Kyle Connor with a high stick. With an assist on the goal, Neal Pionk reached the 200-point mark since joining the Jets in a trade with the New York Rangers.

He’s also exemplifying the exact fan that Delaware North hopes most Bruins fans to be: starry-eyed optimists that can not, or refuse to, face the objective realities of the team and wish/hope/pray for a miracle, all the while plopping down their hard-earned money to spend on the team. Pasta before his big contract had proven his worth, Swayman just gave us a small sample and management fell for it, sorry Swayman sold himself and good for him, blame management. Pasta makes even more than Swayman and he's taking a lot of heat for his poor play this season. But the money shouldn't be the issue, as you said, the performance should be.

As Hab fans we can only dream.on management as good as the Bruins have had over the last two decades.
Thst being said we don't envy Bruins goaltending.
Management screwed that up plain and simple.
Ulmark shoukd be wearing the black and gold. Swayman should be making about 4 mill a season on Ottawa.
It would not take a Sam Pollock or Bill Torey to have pulled that off. Pretty simple. Sweeney dropped the ball.
Keeping and paying Swayman as a number one is a....YIKES.
You have to go back decades to find a number one goalie in Boston not better Swayman.

I feel like I’m conversing with an intransigent Don Sweeney, himself, or with a member of the Jacobs family.

Well, first, I think one has to admit there’s a problem before it can be addressed. It appears that some here are satisfied simply with winning records and President’s Trophies. For those, my remarks fall on deaf ears.

To those not satisfied with that, they could do things like not pay to attend games, or otherwise contribute to the Jacobs family coffers, complain on radio shows or comment via sites like this or on YouTube channels or other social media avenues.

But, if you think this team is good enough for your entertainment dollar and interest, then fine. To each his own.

I see a team that’s been mismanaged for nearly a decade and am not among those satisfied with where we are.
