WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — Mark Scheifele scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Winnipeg Jets to a convincing 8-1 victory over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night.

Nikita Chibrikov, Mason Appleton, Alex Iafallo, Gabriel Vilardi, Kyle Connor and Vladislav Namestnikov scored the other Winnipeg goals.

Scheifele now has a 13-game point streak at home, totaling 20 points in that stretch.

David Pastrnak replied for the Bruins, who had a four-game winning streak snapped.

Connor Hellebuyck made 23 saves for Winnipeg. Jeremy Swayman stopped 27 shots for Boston.

Scheifele scored his second goal of the game, one-timing a perfect setup from Josh Morrissey on a second-period power play, increasing the Winnipeg lead to 3-0.

Namestnikov opened the scoring in the first period with Boston defenseman Brandon Carlo off for four minutes after clipping Kyle Connor with a high stick. With an assist on the goal, Neal Pionk reached the 200-point mark since joining the Jets in a trade with the New York Rangers.

Takeaways
Bruins: Boston was on their heels after the Jets scored on the power play in the first period, but came to life in the second, scoring their first goal and missing a number of chances. Then they fell apart in the third.

Jets: Winnipeg seemed sparked by the energy displayed by call-up Chibrikov. He drew an early penalty, started the play that led to Winnipeg’s first goal, then assisted on Iafallo’s power-play goal. Then, Scheifele took over, converting two great passes, and dominating play whenever he was on the ice.

Key moment
Connor scored on a setup from Scheifele 1:15 into the third period giving Winnipeg a 4-1 lead and deflating the Bruins.

Key stat
The Jets scored three power-play goals.

Up next
The Bruins visit the Seattle Kraken on Thursday. The Jets host the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday.

I posted this is the Swayman thread:

Because Im an original 6 fan I surely hope he gets his game back in shape.
As far as what he makes , I couldnt give 2 shits.

The Cam/Sweeney show f***ed that up.

I don’t begrudge anyone getting what they can get.

Hell, I did my entire career and bet most here would too. Or did too.

And spare me the take one for the team. Its a business. Whether we like it or not.

Obviously I'm not talking about the end results of periods 1 and 2 , as its black and white the Jets were winning 3-1 . My point is the Bruins weren't completely dominated like in other games earlier this season. It all fell apart in the 3rd but for 2 periods at least imo they looked like they could compete with Winnipeg.

If you had said in the first place the Bruins looked like they could compete with Winnipeg for 2 periods, that would have been OK. But you stated they outplayed the Jets for 2 periods. That's a whole different take.

I am with you, players should get what they can, especially hockey players, but when you have a salary cap , and this also where you are right, that Cam and Sweeney, f***ed up, you must be able have players make what they are worth and keep a roster balanced, they FAILED. I won't list the whole scenario, but lets be honest what they have done or failed to do is not good.

Who said you were upset? Defensive maybe
No one, I legitimately said I wasn’t upset with what he did, but he does tend to take advantage of certain players.

Players have done it to our players over the years. I’m simply pointing out the fact that his “knock outs” have come when the other guys didn’t know how to fight.

I like this version of Frederic. I’m just saying.

Of all the the things to be upset about this team, Freddy KOing a non fighter isn’t on my list. Who gives a shit? Guy dropped the gloves and got dropped. Big deal.

Freddy, like most B’s this year has sucked. But being outraged that fight was “classless” after that shit show the against a good team is like moaning about losing a nickel after you’ve just lost your retirement savings on a dumb bet.

Only reason we not in cellar is because there are a lot of shitty teams in league that we can grab points off.

Parity among shitty teams is reason we will find it hard to restock our utterly utterly utterly empty cupboards.

Looks like 1990’s time for this team, I’m afraid.

At this point Brazeau has to be a legit candidate also.
Fair enough. Still, slim pickings.

Pasta makes even more than Swayman and he's taking a lot of heat for his poor play this season. But the money shouldn't be the issue, as you said, the performance should be.

Yup.
I dont equate one with the other. Thats just me.
He, Sway and hell just about all of them aren’t performing up to their potential.

The money is secondary. That arguement is for a front office f***ed up thread.

Maybe.
But he literally didnt put a gun to anyones head.
Sweeney should be hearing it. And loud.
Oh for sure. Paying a back up goalie 8.5 long-term.
Sweeney is hearing it.......but it ain't either or. Both can be true at same time. Sweeney over paid and Swayman sucks.

You would be hard pressed to find one player actually earning their paycheck on the B's roster! Maybe Wotherspoon and Peeke but after that yuck!

Agreed.
My point is Swayman sucks due to performance. Not his pay.
Whilst Sweeney sucks because of what he decided to pay.

Unfortunately, it is a cap league, so the money matters, and yes, it is management responsibility, to manage the cap properly. if I was a player, I would not refuse to take more that is on management to control the cap, they f***ed up, and it is not the coaches fault it is managements, and it is a time for a change.
