I had to pack so didn't see much of the third. I am now in Seattle. Didn't sleep last night (or on the plane) so I am exhausted

Freddy is a want to be tough guy who does not fair well against the known fighters in the league. This incident did nothing to impress anyone.

The problem with Freddy is everyone expected him to be Lucic light. He's not a heavyweight and probably shouldn't be fighting the big brawlers in the league .

The fight was cheap, pointless and borderline classless. But we are told by certain media types that there are some teams who would love to have Freddy.
Who are these teams they speak of?

There was no instigator or added roughing. Two guys decided to fight so they did.

Dragged Kastelic and Zadorov into it which was entertaining, only real entertainment of the night to be honest.

It was a clean KO as you'll see too. Like what he did to they guy who crosschecked Bergeron in the face.

I had a chuckle as this past weekend my buddy had his annual rod hockey tourney with the old Coleco sets. A round robin with 7 buddies then playoffs.
And yes....I won!!! (2nd time) Won all 7 straight total.
And yes....I had Cheevers in net, not Swayman.

Not upset, but he’s KO’d two guys who have never fought. He also fought Larson who doesn’t fight.

Freddy is 6'3' 220. How is he not a heavyweight? Who are the guys that are a lot bigger than him that fight regularly? Gernuine question here as I don't feel arsed to look up all the heights and weights. I know Reaves isn't a giant, Jeannot isn't, Olivier isn't- they are all in the Freddy size ballpark.

It’s not like any smaller guys fight in the NHL anymore. “Weight class” is more of a fighting skill class. Olivier and Jeannot are two of the top fighters in the league if not the two best.

Same people love Sam Bennett when he picks a fight with Hampus Lindholm.

Yes.
If other teams would also roster their moms ... Frederic would likely fight twice as much.

Win a round or 2 and you never know. Playoffs are lottery. Get your ticket.

This isn't really true. Even looking at teams that people point out like the Kings and the Blues who had poor regular seasons but won a Cup... those teams had pretty good goal differential numbers in the regular season.

Of Eastern Conference teams, only MTL and PIT have worse goal differentials. There's simply nothing to this point that suggests that the Bruins are one of these "surprise" teams that go on a deep run. The "lottery" you speak of isn't a good analogy. The lottery is totally random and no amount of skill can influence it. A hockey game and season are not random. How teams finish does depend on the roster make up and skill. Right now it doesn't look like the B's are much more than a "mid" team.

Let’s face it, a 32 team league makes for a ton of mediocrity but it also makes total rebuilds much more difficult. Boston has enough talent to be a bubble team this year and next. So they will play it safe and not make a major trade.

If we trade any of our first or second picks in the next three years my head will explode.

Same if we trade for any player older than 26 years old.

We have major holes and the cupboards are barer than Lady Godiva.

I don't blame Swayman at all for the first three goals absolutely no chance.
The fourth goal I think he needed to make that save and maybe two others in the third.
But you can't really fault him when Jets players are left alone with no Bruins within 5 - 10 feet or allowed to skate into the slot 15 - 10 feet in front of the net and pick a corner.
Still it doesn't matter If Boston can't score on their chances.
Put a few of those Boston chances in the net early on and it's an entirely different game.

Swayman was beat on the shot BEFORE the tap in goal. Only luck stopped first shot from going in. Tap in was just a guy standing there putting the finish on a shot Swayman should have stopped to begin with.
