I think it’s safe to say that, following the hot start, water is seeking its level.

They don’t have the horses up front. Aside from Pastrnak, nobody moves the needle on offense.

They’ll go as far as their goaltending can carry them. Not sure how far that’ll be.

I was fine with them punting this season and replenishing the coffers. They don’t have much to work with in terms of improving the team anyway.
I would ride it out with what they have and hope one of the goalies can pull a 2013 Tuukka and put them on their back for a couple rounds.

I like this team, scrappy for being physically limited. Off season I would let most of UFA's go. I would re-sign Heinen. No interest in retaining Gryz or Jake.

Well I guess the good thing is there isn’t a 3-3 OT in the playoffs, but these blown leads and the way they struggle in their own end with an aggressive forcheck is still very concerning it will kill them in the playoffs just like last season.

Couple thoughts.
Flower not as good as he once was, but can be as good once as he ever was. Wow. Game saving stops on Zacha, JVR, Shattenkirk, Pasta, even Geekie.

About Debusk, the shot wide in OT wasn't what irked me. Nor his penalty in the 1st that the Wild scored on. It was his first shift in OT (I can't find the replay), where he was 3 feet from the puck and just stood there while a Wild player skated to it. With possession everything in OT, I was surprised he got a second shift after that. Not sure what's going on with him.

Try again Saturday.

2 huge concerns they need to fix fast:

a. Getting pinned down in their dzone for extended periods of time.
b. Their complete collapse against even the softest forecheck.

Gryz needs to go, he’s no longer an nhl caliber defenseman, he’s too small & soft, not particularly skilled, and is a liability every time he steps out there.

These are problems they had in the playoffs,so obviously the coach hasn’t figured out how to fix or doesn’t have the personnel to fix it.As far as Gryz agree but doubt anyone is burning up Sweeneys phone wanting him.

My memory could be off, but one of the many things Bergy and DK did was help with transition out of the D-Zone.

They would be cycling or moving with speed and two passes later, high danger opportunities on offense.

It just ain't happening and nearly stationary D-men are chipping pucks out, trying to make cute ill-timed passes, or just giving up possession.

They are all world goalie play and PP dependent a bit right now. 16th in scoring 5v5. Generally not a great recipe for success. Florida was 5th 5v5 last year, and 7th pn PP

He is an enigma. Has all the talent to be an offensive defenseman, the skating is there, the handling of the puck is there, his passing out of zone is good, so generally a good passer. The making of a good QB. He is decent defensively and would be ok if his offensive would outweigh his defense deficiencies. It just has never came together for him.

There was a play yesterday where someone gave Gryz a pass in the offensive zone and he had all the room in the world coming in on fleury and he didnt even get a shot off. He just waited and circled behind the net.lol
The guy sucks, and it wouldnt hurt the team at all if he was not playing.
Besides, it seems he is always on the ice in OT when we get scored on.

Yeah it makes Jake’s struggles frustrating. If he was on his regular 25 per 82 pace, the Bruins are right there in the top 10 in scoring.

I'm super annoyed at the OT goal and how Debrusk played that.

But honestly I'm pretty happy that for once, we tied up a game late. You need the confidence to believe you can.

pissed away a point , loved the way the boys played for the first 40, super entertaining tilt but again, let a lesser opponent stick around and it cost them again

Lauko deserves props for doing his job better than anyone else last night.

This is a pipe dream, I know. But I'd really like to see Marchand, Pasta and McAvoy simplify (refine?) their games a bit. Be a little smarter in their approach. Marchand doesn't have the magic anymore. McAvoy doesn't have Bergeron anymore to cover for him. Pasta shouldn't have to force plays every shift.

Jake with another irritating performance.

Ullmark's GAA now at 2.86. Nearly a full goal higher than last season (1.89).

Good thing the Wild top line didn't do well on faceoffs. Once they got the puck they kept it.

When the Bruins go into OT, it feels like their attitude is, we got a point.

The opponents seem to sense that and it looks like their attitude is lets steal a point.

That could be all wrong. But I can honestly say I haven't seen another NHL team that hasn't figured out how to handle 3 on 3 play yet.

I think he's being too soft with vets. Jake needs to sit for a game or two.

He needs rethink how get they out of their own end . Forwards have to be more active making themselves available for breakout passes. That's just my opinion and what do I know.

the only guy that seems to handle 3 on 3 well is coyle.
If he doesnt see a play he regroups and keeps the puck. Every other Bruins player gets nervous and tries to force plays that arent there and always turn the puck over, or take meaningless shots.
