Fun game and big win. Nice game from Husso.
New pp units are a bit strange, but its nice to see Berggren getting time on the top unit. I hope they give these units a few games before changing.
We still run around in our zone way too much. Last game it was Philly with the forecheck penning us in, tonight Toronto and their skill playing keep away. All we do is chase and lose almost every one on one puck battle. Its frustrating.

Still, always nice to beat Toronto.

Four points out of a playoff spot. I know folks think the Wings don't stand a chance at the playoffs, I know the Wings haven't played well this season, but this is why we're not seeing any big sale going on or Lalonde being fired. 3/4 of the Eastern Conference has looked bad this year, and nearly no one is out of the playoff race.

Good win tonight, though Kane continues to look like a red hot mess. I expected his legs to go, for him to lose mobility, I didn't really expect his shot to go all to hell.

I'll say it, Gus is looking better. A lot of guys we've been ragging on had good games tonight. Hope they keep it up, if for nothing else than it makes the games more watchable.

No gus has not looked better. It absolutely baffles me that he continues to get pp time over ed. He constantly fumbles the puck at the blue line, gives crappy passes and loses battles. He just does not look good. And he rarely shoots on the pp. I hate that lalonde refuses to change that. He's too chicken to use the youth as much as he should.

Which brings me to my next point. In what world does ben chiarot get more ice time than both seider and edvinsson?! Against the leafs! Lalonde is extremely lucky to have gotten the win tonight with his poor bench management.

One thing my buddy and I noticed were the long shifts chiarot and petry take. They start in the D zone, go into the O zone and then around the 40 second mark, they stay out, get stuck in our zone for another 30-40 seconds. That's very long shifts for over the hill players. Coaches need to have those 2 manage their ice time better. They should be no more than 18 min in a game.

The problem is Lalonde is stupidly playing man to man. It’s too hard when you have guys with skill and with D-men being so active. 1 person gets beat and it’s basically a grade A chance. Very bad system

The 2nd PP unit of Kane, Tarasenko, and Gus was zipping the puck around once set up. Too bad their shots all became crap this year lol

So just to clarify, are you saying you're a big fan of Menards?
I once got kicked in ‘Menards’…Hurt so much and couldn’t walk right for a few days.

First time I've made baked ziti. Good recipe.

Store didn't have riccota so I used more mozz.

Just picked up some furnace filters there today.

Merv rating ?

Missed it! Might have to stop watching games and watch replays if they keep winning.

Super surprised to see they won this morning. Still in sell mode personally.

Missed the game, check the box score and see Jeff Petry, of all people, scored twice.

What kind of devil sorcery is this? Wings can't tank right.
The team is undefeated this season when Petry scores.

Biggest problem with this team is a lack of secondary scoring. When the scrubs score, the team wins. I ran the numbers for Copp last week.

No, I think Gus has looked better as the season has gone on, and our second power play has been moving the puck well lately. If anything, I think they've had a better idea what they're doing than the first unit.

And I got that feeling with Chiapet, too. But statistically, their average shift length isn't any different than any other D in Detroit, around fifty seconds. I think we might just notice them more because we're constantly expecting awful things to happen with them on the ice.

But I'm not sure we can play them less. I don't want to see our third pair more often than we already do, and running Seider out there for 27+ minutes every night, with the matchups he already gets....it's a lot to ask of the guy.
