If we had some solid veteran leadership, this would be a good time for it to show up.

I'd be looking past Kreider and Mika...Trocheck, maybe.
The kids are the ones that scored the goals to make this a game and now you already know that they're going to just stuff the veterans back out there to try to tie the game instead of feeding the kids more minutes

And to that point, what's happened to the bruins since McAvoy blew up their pay structure? They had one historic season on the way to now being unrecognizable and part of that is everyone there is now looking out for #1. There are plenty of accurate reports the Igor actually took less for the nmc. He would have gotten more money on July 1
Throughout my adult life I’ve done some work for Unions during contract negotiations and the skilled work groups would lose their minds over the unskilled groups making a livable wage. The skilled group felt that they were taking less in income and benefits to subsidize the unskilled group.
In the NHL there appears to be an opposite effect.
There is a finite amount to be divided amongst the players. The Stars take the lions share at the expense of the rest of the group. There are players aged 26 and up who need to uproot themselves and their families every year at less than desirable wages.
So I can only imagine when a player demands that much of the pie, which then causes the organization to move out respected veteran leadership it may bring out resentment whether warranted or not.
