Makes ya wonder how Bedard was rated as #1. If he lacks the speed at that size, then he shoulda been bumped down the draft order.

His production in juniors was exceptional. The overlooked aspect IMO is that players can get away with lack of size and speed at that level if their hockey IQ, stickhandling, and shot are as good as Bedard's. In the NHL, you can get away lack of size OR speed, but it's really difficult to lack both and be a "generational talent."

Yes, you always have a 2nd guy in the box if both teams get penalties but one team gets an extra.
