I'm not usually a part of the Houle hate parade but not giving Dobes a chance to rebound in favour of a career minor leaguer is pretty crappy. Especially considering Mann wasn't really anything special on Saturday either.

Maybe he's just not ready and needs more work in practice. We have no idea what goes on behind closed doors. I'm sure the goalie coach has a big say as to who starts. It's not just Houle. Besides, sitting the bench should make him hungrier.

My God. I know he's not a prospect, but still. Players should just start staying away from this organization until management can do an exorcism or whatever. I just can't believe this. I've followed the Habs since the late 70's and I've never seen injuries like this.

Fair point but if he's not ready then shouldn't we have just left him in college for another year?

I'll concede it's just a minor gripe and it's still early going. I just don't really see much in Mann and would have gone back to Dobes for tonight. They'll both get a game this weekend on the back to back anyways.

It will take us the same amount of time to remove the curse of Roy from our team than it took Boston to remove the curse of the Bambino. Took Boston 86 years. We have around 60 years remaining.

They will develop Dobes. No reason to put him in if he is struggling. Can't help if he is pulled 2 games in a row.

He has consistently put Mysak into a box and has 0 interest in developing him beyond making him a checking forward. He's been the victim of limited ice time and scratches for 2 years now.

He has talked negatively about Mesar in the media, warranted or not, and scratched him for 2 games straight.

Kidney has been scratched.
Davidson has been scratched.

He has kept Norlinder off the PP and used some scrub AHL vets who dont even have offensive ability in his place consistently.

Now Strauss Mann is getting the start tonight and Dobes hasn't got a chance to erase a game he was likely nervous in, the whole team played poorly in and it's not like Mann was any better in relief or the next game.

He's just an old school guy who talks like Lefebvre and coaches the way Bergevin wanted his guys to coach. Get rid of this clown, a Houle in the Habs organization has never been good.

Perplexing decision not to have Dobes in net.

The defense in front of him was horrible in that first game and he hasn’t had a chance to take that out of his system.

Especially with two games in 24h Friday/Saturday. They should have given him the game today and one of the others.

It was also surprising to see him talk this openly about Mesar. Wonder what management is doing regarding this situation.

For Mysak, I completely agree. It’s sad to see him in a box from the start. Not that the potential is huge, but he clearly was a standout throughout the whole camp.
