Seems like most of the scoring chances the first line has generated so far have wound up on Marner's stick.

What has been so outlandishly bad about Marner's play this game? He missed the partial break, yeah. Murray stood tall and the defender came across right as he was shooting.

Other than that he has been all over the ice so far this game. The penalty was also BS.

He shot it low enough to catch it. But you can’t give those chances. Muzzin played it terribly.

It isn't great that he was wide open in the slot and didn't even get a shot away

I was pretty vocal yesterday that this was the biggest problem then as well. Everyone wanted to blame it on their goalie being better than ours. But the truth is the leafs weren't even getting shots on net with the majority of their scoring chances. Happening again so far today.

It's not about this game. He's just not an elite finisher and scoring goals is not his forte.
