You’re all correct imho. All signs point to a young player who is lacking confidence.

As most of us, of mature vintage know, confidence is 90% in what we do well.

Hopefully Coach Gallant can help this young talent regain his confidence. In my experience as a Leader & Manager, sometimes adversity is needed for a young mind to be cracked open in order to accept advice/wisdom.
