Just checked the box score as of the end of the 2nd period.. Vlasic and Braun on the ice for -3 pts. I've only been able to follow on NHL.com.... wow.

Sateri it is then.

I've watched heemskerk and he will never sniff the nhl, stalock is super small to the eye test. Niemi looks to have lost that focus, and greiss while technically superior to niemi lacks that spark that makes a starter. So...us sateri any good?

Sateri is Finnish so that's a start.

Yes, one goal defines his entire career.

I think an open lane shot from a fourth liner tells me quite a bit about his baseline at least. Could he be a starter here, maybe...but I worry about his size, especially when I haven't seen any amount of superior athleticism to make up for it.

He looked shakey the whole game. Yes he made some nice saves but he didn't look confident. He had some bad rebounds too.

I disagree. He was fine last game. Even this game, you could maybe blame him for the first goal and the 3rd goal, but all 4 were just horrible defensive efforts.

Stuart and Braun are having bad games, but Murray and Vlasic are having terrible, terrible games.

Got home early, happy I could catch the rest of the game, then I saw the score...

They've not been good. I have no clue what's wrong with Vlasic lately, but I remember he took a really hard hit a week or so ago. Dunno.

But he really needs to start making quicker decisions. It's brutal. He has absolutely no idea what to do with the puck once he has it. He needs a Burns or a Boyle to haul it out of the zone for him.

Judging his baseline on one goal in a relief game is ridiculous. And Stalock is very athletic.

Well we agree to disagree.

It's ok bros. The Kings have 1/3 of their defense on the shelf plus Quick is way off his game this season but hey the Sharks are only losing 5-1 so who's counting?

The frustrating thing about this team is that they put two very strong efforts in a row then they stink it up for the next games.

That can be said about most of our players, both forwards and D-men in the defensive zone. This has been the case for a while now. They take too long and the opponents aggressive forecheck generates a turnover, or they just make a bad pass to the middle of the ice after taking too long which again generates in a turnover.

Vlasic is more noticeable and hard to give a pass to because he was so rock solid last year. Not sure what is up with him.

Interestingly, even after the loss today .. we are still tied for 8th and playoff bound.

Just a question, have you ever, in your life, seen him play, outside of relief appearances?

I said it gives me an idea of his baseline. Obviously sample size needs to be in play. But nothing he has done has made me say. "Wow he's fast, or man his glove is quick." I do like how he moves the puck though, so ill withhold judgement.
