Markov ❤️ Hall of Fame talent but injuries f***ed his totals. Thankfully played for a while after the injuries. Hero of the dark ages and a great leader and performer in slightly less dark times
Simply my favorite player in the last 20 years in MTL.

I've love Subban Kovalev and Koivu but Markov was something else, always underrated around the NHL and for that I appreciate him even more.

A true gentleman on and out of the ice.

Welcome back Marky!

I think tonight is a good night for Nashville to end their losing streak.
And for Habs to finally win 3 in a row.

Elite hockey IQ, top end regular season Dman who just couldn’t bring it in the playoffs when opposition focused more on him

It’s not slander it’s a fact, one can understand a 2-3% drop not 25%+

Regular season: 0.58PPG
Playoffs: 0.35PPG
Look at the teams around him and you can easily see how that impacts his production in the playoffs. And let's not forget how reliable defensively he was. Markov was never the reason we lost in the playoffs, and there were plenty of times he was definitely a reason for our success. I'm not here to say he's the best playoff performer, but I would never knock his playoff performances either.

I might get shit on again for saying this here like I was in the Reinbacher thread, but I'm mad curious to know what we would look like with Michkov in our top 6.

The great players have no more than 2-3% playoff drop off but Russians even the greatest drop off a cliff including the likes of Ovy, Datsyuk, Kaprizov et al

Malkin & Panarin have been the exceptions
