They got sicilian Style there right? It’s alright…. But California pizza in general is pretty meh even the “new york” and “Chicago” places are meh.

But @Leonardo87 if you are back in California again, head over to Tony’s Pizza in Placentia…. I don’t always love Chicago pizza but Tony’s slaps.

That’s my G right here, I second this. My go-to spot if I just want to have a day where I go crazy

Johnny Saloon in HB has fire pizza as well. It's a whiskey bar (dive-ish) and a pizzeria so good. Never tried Tony's will add it to the list but it's kinda far from me. From the pictures that looks like a Rances pizza.

That looks really good. We have a Chicago style place called Emmets in the city but my go to place is Rubirosa downtown on Mulberry street...

Most my family is on Long Island so I’m more used to places like ginos alberts and roccos

Best pizza I've ever had was a little pizza joint in NYC connected to the hotel I was staying in. It was 2 bucks a slice and it was a quarter of a pizza per slice. Also the ingredients were HUGE. The ham and pineapple had fresh pineapple instead of canned and the ham was giant chunks that looked like they were sawed off of a holiday ham. Amazing.

What part of Long Island? I have family out there as well. I recall a place Mamma Lombardi’s out there was really good.

As a Canadian I don't really care, but I would watch your back if you step foot in NYC again.

Yes our pizza does suck lol but my counter to that is where in NYC can you get authentic traditional made Carnitas made the real way with proper copper cauldron, high quality tamales/pozole/mole as good as homemade ? :)

We don’t have anything in Alberta that compares to NY lol. Even the random places on the avenue there are better than the top place in Calgary

sgt. pepperoni's and tony's little italy are my favorite pizza spots in OC

rance's is good too, but i'd put tony's above them
Rances wings are so damn good. I think they are called Bourbon maple bacon wings. The Pizza is okay.

The only thing I know about pizza in Calgary is they have a spot called Grafton & Blowers, which is supposed to be "Halifax style pizza" for all the Maritimers out west to go to. But like, pizza corner on Grafton & Blowers is just the area where all the drunk people spill out to get pizza and get in fights there's nothing special about any of it lol. I have no idea what could be unique about that place, unless it's a spot for donairs.

Add Rance’s to that list. As someone who grew up in Chicago, California as a rule has no clue how to make pizza.

Best/most accurate description of California pizza I saw came from a YouTube comment that described it as a communion wafer with exotic toppings.

I’ve definitely seen it. It’s due south of me and and it’s in a great area for bars so I gotta check it out sometime.

best pizza in Calgary I’ve experienced is Roma’s north of the river which is probably just OK by NY standards. Some people here will suggest Boston pizza or blaze pizza honestly if you ask for pizza suggestions lol.

Toronto is I guess unsurprisingly the best place in Canada for Italian food in general. Strong ethnic community there, although Montreal and Van are Pretty good as well.

Worth clarifying that it's best for Euro-Italian vs. American Italian. As far as I know we don't have a super highly-regarded spot for NY-style pizza.

Mind you, there is a very good Detroit deepdish place that I would be very happy to recommend to anyone who's in the area and interested.

Patchogue and copiague areas(born in west islip)… there is just too many pizza places there… it’s like taco places in California

Cool. I have family in Medford and Lynbrook. Actually going to the Islanders game with my cousin when the Ducks are in town. He is like 15 mins from the new arena.

This probably isn't unique to Toronto, but I feel like TO's cuisine is annoyingly separated into geographical areas by virtue of where immigrants landed and there really hasn't been a huge expansion outside of those areas.

Great if you happen to live in a specific area where you know you love the food, but it can be a bit frustrating when you know the best places that are really indicative of Toronto's eating scene are very spread out and not usually in the downtown area / near the arena.
