Sometimes it makes me feel like I'm in National Treasure trying to decode a riddle!

In the 1950's in my hometown they heard that there is The Hockey Handbook written in English available somewhere out there. Lost and found, it was then translated and put into use.

Montreal is missing Carey Price, their all everything goalie, and Brendan Gallagher, their first line mega pest.

Still, the Jackets need everything to go right for them if they are to beat a team which is far superior to them.

I like our chances. Condon has been spotty at best. Gallagher being out also should help our chances. Bob needs a strong game but I see us getting 2pts.

A goalie with a 2.19 GAA , 0.916 save %, and an 8-2-2 record is considered "spotty at best"...? :shakehead

Hopefully Wennberg playmaking can get Saad lose up front. Saad usually plays better when not on top line.. Better matchups. Team tonight looks good on paper, we will see on ice if it's as good as it should be.

5 games from 500

0 assists so far playmaking:laugh:

General thoughts on Wennberg:

I know the kid's been hurt, but the organization is really messing up on his development. He needs AHL seasoning.

Lars Eller, #81 for Montreal, was a Jarmo first round pick as well (in St Louis). He got one year in the AHL and then was then brought up to stay in the NHL for good way ahead of when he should have been and has never developed very well.

The longer Wennberg stays in the NHL, the harder it becomes to place him where he really belongs now (the AHL) because it will seem like a demotion to him instead of a place where he needs to be in order to develop properly.

I don't expect the FO to place Wennberg in the AHL. The absurd preferential treatment he was given last year pretty much showed where they want him. Sending him down now would be an admission that they were wrong about where he needed to be last year.

I agree. I won't speculate as to what the FO is thinking about Wennberg, but I agree with the rest of your statement.

We have on this board a "Legend of Wennberg" that defies reality. Some people think of him as an outstanding playmaker and stellar defensive player, when in reality he has merely shown glimpses of those capabilities, and when in reality he is a kid who needs to be in the AHL so he can develop a consistent game at both ends of the rink.

hey guys, not sure if direct linking is permitted but I'm pretty sure words are.

If you have the time, you should check out the Habs GDT. They made the theme the war of 1812 and have all the player line ups dressed like Blue jackets against red coats. It's hilarious and I thought some of you would enjoy it.

Agreed. Though in their defense, it's pretty easy to over value your own team's players. I am very guilty of that on my evaluation of our defensive corps heading into this season.

So few players are NHL ready when they are 20 years old. Wennberg is definitely not an exception. The fact that he's only played a handful of games at the AHL level is yet another reason to question the competence of the front office.

Condon has had had a few games where he fell apart when scored on early

Get behind and leave him build confidence as the game goes on and it will be extremely difficult to come back

An early goal or two and He can fall apart fast

Time to worry re: Condon. He was great. I added him to my fantasy team when Price got hurt first time. He almost instantly tanked. I cut him a few days ago. He'll rebound in spectacular fashion I am sure.

This team just doesn't have 'it'

Whatever it is

I think that 0-8 start was a torpedo and it hit the U.S.S. Season right on
