**** yea...the only reason im even being annoying pro-spooner is because of all the ridiculous spooner hate ive read on these boards.
I honestly dont think he has consistently been a defensive trainwreck like some people love to portray...I swear it's like this weird line of thinking, when he first enter the league he did struggle greatly defensively and ever since, he can't shake the stigma of being a defensive trainwreck
and the reality is, especially this season, he hasnt.
He just hasnt.
He didnt look good early on with Backes and Krejci (who was playing some of the worst hockey ive seen him play)
But in terms of being the root cause of goals against...I don't recall many where he was the direct result of goals against, where I can easily recall times when Nash, Czarnik, Beleskey, Hayes, Backes, Krejci, Bergeron, Mcquaid, C.Miller, K.Miller have directly been responsible for goals.
Sadly I just don't think people care enough and it's easy to continue to label Spooner is terrible at defense.
I am not saying he is good, but I havent seen his defensive deficiencies really hurt the bruins too many times so far this season.
So happy he is responding to the adversity and last 5 games he has been very good.
