Where does the myth that Copp is good at killing penalties come from? His PK numbers are atrocious.

Detroit only has 7 NHL-quality defensemen in the system who are in their plans.
 
I want to know who Steve is trusting when it comes to scouting pro defensive defenseman. Chiarot, Petry, and Holl was miss after miss after miss. Maatta has been merely passable overall and not great this year. Interestingly, the only defenseman we’ve acquired who is actually good at defense is Walman, and that’s a guy Yzerman personally had his eye on for years.

Feels like we just go out and acquire new Ericssons and Liljas.

Also, for the record, I’m not letting Steve off the hook here. He makes the final call. But there’s no way he has enough time during the year to personally scout pros. The bulk of what he’s relying is somebody else’s opinion. I think whoever that is, person or persons, needs to be trusted a little less from now on.

Frustrating because Edvinsson would already be a top 4 D on this team, no question about it. I understand their patient approach to Ed, and he's playing extremely well in the AHL. If we're in the playoff chase come March, you need Ed on the roster because he immediately makes the team better and you have to ice your best possible roster in a playoff chase.

Don’t follow GR that closely. Has he cut back on the turnovers and smartened up on when to activate? Cause those were the deficiencies when he was in the board.
