Feels like a trap game. Sharks have been playing better lately (above .500 their last 10 games), theres a bunch of hype about Kane in the line up and Husso is getting the start.

I hope I'm wrong obviously but just has the makings of one of those games lol. If I had to choose tonight or Saturday I would rather win Saturday anyways

I have an uneasy feeling about this one. I keep thinking it’s a one goal loss with Zadina on the scoresheet with an assist. Thankfully I’m almost always wrong

He's a bit dinged up and has had a few maintenance days lately. Lalonde stated that the scratch tonight will be based on how dinged up the player is, and not just a healthy scratch.

The way Veleno has been playing this season, I am confident he will do a good job stepping in at 2C between Cat and Kane

Veleno getting to be in the middle of dbc and kane is.........wild.

Just a few months ago we (or most) were trying to not sign his RFA or trade him to bring up kasper....now he is with showtime and pal.

Just wild. (imagine if kasper did take his spot and is all of a sudden between these two guys and now he got to learn from kane and dbc? holy shi* that would have been nuts)

Yeah, there is no way Compher is a healthy scratch. He has 19pts in 24 games and is easily our 2nd best center. The good news is that we actually have a deep enough team that we arent just SOL if he needs a couple games to get healthy.

That said, Veleno has been better than expected and I can imagine how excited he must be for this opportunity.

While Im happy for Veleno, I do think he is not going to be the best center for Kane and DbC. He isnt the highest IQ player nor a great passer. I fear he may not be able to keep up with the tic tac toe passing those guys are capable of. I do think Compher is just about the perfect center for them. He is excellent both ways, is a good passer, and doesnt demand the puck alot himself.

Either way, Im super excited about the possibilities if Kane is anything close to his former self. Fingers crossed

I think he is banged up but lalonde believes he is not OVERLY needed to beat the sharks, so giving him a rest day since larkin/raymond/kane/dbc/etc are there to provide the scoring support.

The only thing I hope he doesn't do is defer to kane every single time.

Hopefully he doesn't do it, but it feels like he is going to have that thought in his head instead of playing how he did to get to this point. As long as he can separate this, then that line could really really work with veleno's energy he can make up for kane's (if kane is slower for whatever reasons)
