Frankly, I know y'all love the idea of "tanking", but I'm over it. Team is too exciting to find solace in a loss. There is no "bright side" in that regard.

This team is not, as it is currently constructed, a threat to win anything of significance. So a strong effort that was built on the backs of the young players showing what they can do at their best but that ends with the team improving/holding its draft position to help create more opportunity to round out the version of the roster that can compete is absolutely a win.

Honestly kinda great result.

-Drastically outplayed opponent
-Points for kids
-Showed gumption to tie it up in the third
-Regulation loss
Yup. Completely dominated Ottawa, who - quite ironically, given what we saw tonight - is a decent team outside of goaltending over the last couple years. Kids got their points. Never gave up even after a deflating 4th goal from Ottawa.

In many ways, it's the most encouraging result of the season. But still kinda stings in the moment.

Truly hilarious game

Outshoot your opponent by 27, lose

We hadn't seen a goaltending performance as bad as Dave Riddich yet this season

Blackwood: Bet.

The Sharks were overdue for a loss in a game they unequivocally deserved to win, they've won and tied several games this year they didn't deserve to be in, this was karma coming due

Still, the kids man, so exciting

nah we're in the losing but in the fun way stage. this is the last high draft pick year though.
Next week's road trip is gonna be a real test for this team. Right now they're gelling. Lines look pretty set, D is playing with more confidence... the only downs now seem to be the struggles of Toffoli and Blackwood and the absence of Toffoli.

That's fair, but I'm no longer on the side of "hope we have a good showing but ultimately lose" in each game.

SNOG announcement

Second double SNOG in a week's span.

4-3 sens.

Tkachuk, batherson, gaudette, stutzle.
Celly, Ekky, Toffoli.

Hard to predict this one. They're playing like shit but we have gotten the bounces in the last 10 to have such a good record despite pretty poor underlying metrics. No Granlund also. Jl

SNOG

Sens 4 (Tkachuk, Gregor, Stuzle, Hamonic)
Sharks 3 (Thrun, Celebrini, Smith)

Congrats @coooldude and @PattyLafontaine on your respective second SNOGs of the season!

Strongest game of the year for the Sharks. Great to see smith belong, and really shine. Celly is celly.

When granny returns, they will win some games. All they need is one more good D and one more good forward. They are getting awfully close to respectable despite their record.

Askarov time?

Can’t touch the Eklund-Celebrini-Zetterlund line when Granlund comes back. They just work so well together.

Toffoli is definitely struggling but I feel like he might be good with a Smith or Granland to feed him the puck.
