If we traded Coyle I think it would wake up the rest of the roster. He's the one dragging Freddy down.

I like the 4th line but sick of them being sacred cows that can't be split up. Surprised Sacco is just as stubborn about that.

Trading Coyle won't wake up anyone.

He's not dragging Freddy down.

The 4th line has been broken up several times.

Did I hear brick right saying that was Zadorov’s first minor penalty in 6 games? He may be settling down finally.
Third period goals are always great to see. They might have something if they can get a useful third line put together.

Fun fact: with Peeke’s assist last night, Coyle is now in sole possession of 18th on the team in even strength points

Coyle now leads the team in takeaways with 16. With 16 giveaways, he's the only Bruin that doesn't have more giveaways than takeaways.

In 24 games, he has two even strength points.

Coyle also has 150 faceoff wins and 150 faceoff losses. Must be winning a lot of them in the neutral zone.

Nice to see Marchand play like Marchand. Maybe the team isn’t as bad as we thought?

I’d still try to get Kreider if that rumor is even real. If they could make a deal involving Freddy, I do it at this point. We’ve been teased for years now by his power forward potential. He is not focused or engaged often enough. He’s the one player I didn’t even notice last night.
Kreider deal scares me but he would fit .Freddy is a ghost.

Kreider is on the back 9 like Marchand. You gotta do a deal that moves out an unwanted salary IMO with NYR.

We always get it together this time of year apart from the Black Friday game which can be a stinker. We can easily get the season back on track in the next week.

I just want to be able to coast to a wildcard spot. Home ice is a disservice to us in the playoffs. If we're in the 2-3 really prefer to not play Toronto and id take Florida or Tampa.

No games are easy.Shittburgh put 5 in net last night vs same Canucks that shut Boston out as example.

They've stopped trying to be pretty for 60 minutes/night and are quite clearly focused on fundamental hockey.

I'm not at those practices and in that locker room, but I am finding it increasingly difficult to deny the feeling that Montgomery had at least a little bit to do with the team not adjusting to the "reality" (IMO) that they couldn't beat teams on skill as was the case a couple of years ago. Just get pucks to the net, win board battles, limit high-risk plays, etc.

I'm under no illusion that this is a team prepared for any sort of playoff run. But I am happy to see that they are showing an ability to put their collective nose to the grindstone which I wasn't sure existed through the first ~20 games of the season.

I also am aware the Islanders are far from a mammoth opponent, but it was great to see the team not revert back to old ways after they got shutout in a game the night before in which they controlled play for the vast majority of all three periods.
Edit: correction - got the wrong numbers.

Last season the B's started out 14-1-3.

The season before, 17-2-0.

You must be thinking of a different team.
