3 apples for Lindholm tonight. Slowly but surely he is starting to get going.

I think Zadorov has been really good ever since Sacco took over. They’ve really simplified their defensive system and it has benefitted him.

Best part for me though was seeing the leaders lead tonight.

Keep on building
I really wish they fired Monty before the season started. It seems like a lot of the players are better since they flushed him down the proverbial toilet. Amazing how much better our new additions have been since they fired him.

What are you watching? As bad as Coyle has been, especially the first 10-12 games, he still has been better than Frederic.
Let’s face it, the two of them have been total crap. I’d love to move them both, but Coyle is so incredibly overpriced that he’s going to be hard to move.

Great win going into Thanksgiving

There are reset days in the year ~ January 1 and Thanksgiving more like are big ones

Here is hoping the Bruins can be more like the Bruins of the last 15 years - Coyle & Frederic can get hot, Swayman be the Swayman we know, and Hampus gets back healthy and soon

Marchand great game, legs were there, skating looked much better. 4th goal was all him and his forecheck.

Zacha mr right place right time, good game again, points finally.

Lindholm good game, steady.

Coyle is working hard, little to show for.

Must win game, well done.

ELMONT, N.Y. — There was no time for exhaustion.

Or excuses.

Playing their sixth period in two nights, the Bruins dug deep and scored three third-period goals to slap a 6-3 loss on the Islanders Wednesday night at UBS Arena.
“It’s what you train all summer for,” said Andrew Peeke, who assisted on Pavel Zacha’s game-winner. “I feel good. Just manage your shifts, manage the puck, keep the game in front of you, and good things happen.”

The good thing on Thanksgiving Eve was the third victory in four games since Joe Sacco took over behind the bench, boosting Boston’s record to 11-10-3.
Boston had squandered leads of 2-0 and 3-2 but responded with a strong final 20 minutes on the second night of back-to-backs.

“Well, it shows good character, right? I think that it could have been like, ‘Oh, we’re not holding onto the lead,’ and get discouraged, but we didn’t do that. We just kept with the message, which is just keep playing,” said Sacco. “This is the game of hockey. Things happen quickly out there and just keep playing. Stay focused on the next shift. Don’t look behind and I thought our guys did a pretty good job of that.”

As brake lights lit up the Long Island Expressway and Cross Island Parkway, the Bruins came out with their foot on the gas pedal, racing to a rare two-goal lead early in the first period.

Ironically, it was a bit of traffic snarl that led to Boston’s first strike.

Three Islanders parked themselves in front of goaltender Ilya Sorokin prior to a faceoff to his right.

Elias Lindholm beat Casey Cizikas cleanly off the drop, sending it to Brad Marchand, who one-touched through the gridlock in front and past Sorokin, who never saw it, just 57 seconds in.

It was the seventh of the season for the captain, who suited up for his 1,053d game, moving him past general manager Don Sweeney for fourth on the franchise list. Only former captains Ray Bourque (1,518), Johnny Bucyk (1,436), and Patrice Bergeron (1,294) are ahead of Marchand.

Not satisfied, Marchand popped in his eighth just over five minutes later.

Zadorov started the play, sending one from deep in the Boston end to Lindholm, who redirected to Justin Brazeau. The big winger couldn’t corral it as he tangled with a defender, but the puck trickled to Marchand, who was trailing the play, and he went backhand-forehand to beat Sorokin under the glove at 6:31.

Islanders coach Patrick Roy, whose favorite colors have never been Black and Gold, called a quick timeout to settle down his team.

It worked as New York played less frenetic following the stoppage.

Boston pushed the pace in the third and were rewarded with Zacha’s two quick strikes that sank the Islanders.

“It was good. I think as a line we’ve been creating a lot of chances and as a team the last two games, outshooting the team,” said Zacha, who has five on the season. “And you know it’s coming when you keep creating and I’m happy that today we finally scored more than one or two goals and won a game.”

You checked most of the boxes. Marchand played at PO intensity first half of game which they will need him to do the next 5 games to max out points.

Thought Geekie was decent to good, other than a play at end of the 1st period when he had a direct line to net for a quality chance and opted for a ridiculously hard and inaccurate cross slot pass.

Need a decent amount more from 73, 25 and 11.

Great win, they shook off that disastrous equalizer at the end of the second. Third place in the Atlantic(games played aside) on U.S. Thanksgiving, imagine where we'd be if our power play was mediocre.
If you were going to drop one of the last three games definitely was the Van game.
Wins on the road against teams they will be in contention with for a PO spot
more important.

Coyle is another one who didn't need to take a shower after the game ..again

They should ship these two out of Boston ..if it's not too late to get something back
Coyle and Marchand led the forwards in minutes played ‘for a reason’. Typical most nights. Coyle plays a hard consistent game. He is by far not the reason for Fred’s poor game. I’m thinking Coyle took a shower.

Because of a busier than usual work schedule and some life-upheaval, there have really been only two games I’ve been able to watch more than a few minutes of - the Montreal game, and last night.

As we sat down to dinner last night, I says to Mrs. 103, “let’s watch the Bs.” I donned my Bobby Orr sweater and I wasn’t disappointed. I’m well aware of the issues that plague this team, but we were entertained for an evening.

Happy thanksgiving, everyone.

They better smash the Habs on Sunday.

next to the bench
- Surprising signs of life from the offense. The Marchand/Zacha/Pasta line looked fantastic and probably played their best game of the season. Do not break this line apart, let it cook a bit.

Good chance to build some confidence coming up. Pittsburgh friday night and then Montreal, both of whom are horrendous defensively. Pittsburgh currently sits last in GA with a mindboggling 97 goals allowed in only 24 games played while Montreal is tied for 30th with Colorado. Then games against Chicago, Detroit and Philly before an actual test against the Jets in Winnipeg all the way on December 10th.
I so agree with keeping this line together

What a dirty little dive by Anders Lee there to draw that penalty.

How do the Islanders manage to always be one of the least penalized teams in the league? Even when they had Clutterbuck and Martin blasting guys and they would lead the team in hits they still were one of the least penalized teams in the league.

Maybe the refs take pity on them for those horrible sweaters.

One penalty called in the game and someone has to make it an issue.

Clearly the ref wanted to bring a little excitement to the building, letting the Isles have a two-man advantage while down 2 goals.

A Thanksgiving gift.

- Korpi wasn't great. 2 of the three goals he allowed probably should have been saved.
- Defense was not great. McAvoy was reallllly bad. Again. Wotherspoon was rough (though after what was a pretty solid stretch from him prior you can let it slide), Lorhei once again doesn't look like he can play outside of the o zone. This team misses Hampus Lindholm and it shows. Peeke continues to do what he does and not get noticed, which is the best you can ask for from a bottom pairing guy. They did clean it up in the third after that abomination of a 30 seconds to close out the second though- Surprising signs of life from the offense. The Marchand/Zacha/Pasta line looked fantastic and probably played their best game of the season. Do not break this line apart, let it cook a bit.

That's not a line.

Geekie is the left wing, not Marchand, with Zacha and Pasta.

Good to see Marchy has regained his 'nose" for the net. Never count the Captain out. Zacha turning up the temperature, keep up the heater. Pasta can't buy a goal but the two assists on the Zacha goals were money. The bank pass to Peeke at the point right in the wheelhouse to one time it for the tip and the steal and area pass to Zacha for the second goal were just the right touch. Are Don Cherry and Dennis O'Brien in town for the 100 year game? Cherry forbade Obie to handle or skate with the puck in his own end, only Park was allowed. Up off the glass and out. Better to lose possession in the neutral zone than handing the puck over time and again in your own end. Maybe a Coaches corner for the current D in order. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Sorry but Montgomery quit on this team. No coach who acts the way he did in his last 2 months here will ever be a winner IMO. He's a jerk to put the team through that, whether it was by design or did it without realizing it (which I doubt) he will never be the HC of a Stanley Cup winning team.
Screw him!

Wow, first time a coach ever quit on his team in sports history!

Can't even imagine what that would be like.
