LA has done better against the Central than the Pacific so far this season. Haven't we only lost once to the Central so far? And it was Chicago on the road.

that's true...in a 7 game series I like the way we stack against Vancouver or San Jose (assuming Anaheim would finish #1 in this scenario) than Nashville, Minnesota, Dallas (I think they fall), or god forbid Chicago

Way too early to get too seriously into these types of talks

Much of that 3-4 against the pacific was the 0-3 overall start, 3-1 since (mind you, 2 of those games were against EDM).

Yeah, but we got the version of Edmonton with McDavid, surging Draisaitl, and Nurse fresh off call up, they were all excited, healthy, and not beaten down yet.

Just like we got the Sharks and Canucks on a hot start, and to a lesser extent the Yotes, though we mostly shot ourselves vs. them.

Not trying to cheapen/rationalize our losses because I think it's possible to do that for all of them, just saying...just because a team is struggling now doesn't mean it was when we faced them (or will be when we do, i.e. Ducks). And we've seemed to catch teams when they get a boost/winning streak (i.e. Detroit getting all their talent back, Philly with Ghost, Carolina with that NCAA defenseman whose name eludes me right now, Florida with Barkov, and so on, I could do this for just about every game this season, teams just flat-out get up for us) and still have chugged right through.

14-5-1 since the first train wreck games, 3rd in the conference, 7th in the league, +8 goal differential, 56.6 CF% (2 full % better than the next team) 1st in the league....

This is all while rocking a 98.86 PDO which is one of the lowest in the league, suggesting despite being more dominant than not we've had some bad luck with shooting %...

Don't be scared to appreciate this team for what it is. Every team has holes. NYR is tearing it up--they're also at going to experience a crash at some point with their ungodly 105 PDO and 2nd worst CF% in the league. Arizona is in a similar boat. And so on. I would actually bank on a lengthy winning/points streak soon if I were a betting man.

This team is ripe for trending up. We haven't even seen close to their best yet.

Not sure why so many don't see this. We are really in such good shape. Goals have been tough for a few years but even with all the changes on the back end we are still second in GA/A.

Please experience tonight's episode of Malcontents In The GDT. It will sober both of you guys up. Meanwhile, I'm ditching it. Will be at the game tonight and will blissfully ignore the GDT in it's entirety. :)

Because your petulant comments were called out by many in the previous GDT? Is that why?

Man, if you always treat everything as good...Nothing can ever really be great. There is a whole range out there and there is nothing wrong with being critical. There is always room for improvement and always room for decline.

But lets hope the game tonight leaves little room for criticism.

Sorry Ron, part of the blame is on me. venting here helps with my frustration when the team is not playing up to their standards.

I'm not mentioning anyone in particular when I make these general posts, yet this is now twice you've felt compelled to respond.

Wonder why that is?

Not a jinx, I'm a Kings fan too. Best case scenario: Kings get two points, and Canucks lose and get closer to a better draft pick. Win-win.

You might be the only guy on this planet to be a fan of both teams.

Then again, I was rooting for the Ducks in the playoffs last season, so there you have it. Anything can and does happen.

You're always calling out others like Herby when they don't agree with you and did the same in the last GDT when we were all discussing the game and the Kings' shortcomings after 40 mins.

My focus in the GDTs isn't individual posters, it's commenting on the game. Look at what Sutter has to say after most games, including wins. It's not always peaches and cream.

Well I lost my bet tonight so we are definitely gonna get a W to make up for it.

What a fantastic post.

Does not belong here on HF.

The GDT is what you make of it.

I just made chicken for a chicken sandwich, but my bread is moldy.
[spoil]Am I doing it right?[/spoil]

Negative: we better not do that play down thing again....
Positive: Gabby, tripple hat trick. 10-1, The Sedins score 2.

It's always a joy to see the Kings beat the Canucks on home ice, I've really disliked them since going back to when they had dirty punks like Sergio Momesso, Geoff Courtnall and Gino Odjick.

Well I started following the Kings more when Kopitar and Quick became regulars and I've just grown to like the whole team and cheer for them now. I can't say "yay kings win" in our around the league thread or everyone gets their panties In a knot.

Good start but if we don't bury one it's the same ol

We are hacking the everliving **** out of markstrom and they're doing nothing
