Ullmark was good again, seems to have found his game which we need. Pinto showed some signs of life. We got a goal from the third line. They kept fighting when they’d go down by one and had a great third period. All good things.

The narrative is what it is because of the 5 game losing streak but 2-1-1 in our last 4 is a start.

We need Sanderson to snap out of his funk if we are going to string together wins anytime soon.

Will Staois make a move?

I'm not even sure who's out there to get? Making a move for the sake of it is what got us the Summer of Pierre bullshit. Giroux and Jensen are the only good acquisitions the team has made in recent years (Jury's still out on Ullmark).

Who you gonna trade? And are you prepared to watch them go win a cup with another team?

Our D-core is still suspect. We need a stabilizer in the 4-6 spot. Petersson from Pens?

People seem to love that Tkachuk throws up shots. There's a reason the Ducks didn't even bother covering him tight on their penalty kill.

Charles Barkley had a quote for basketball recently when praising Tim Duncan - he referenced other players putting up number as "good players putting up great numbers on bad teams". The quote is an accurate description of a couple players on this team. As long as Brady Tkachuk looks great this team won't be succeeding.
Once Brady has two goals in a game we can forget about him passing the puck. He'll shoot everything trying for the hatty.

3 out of 6 points on the road trip is not great, not terrible. But we're threading water. We need to string more wins together.

Now is basically the time. We’ve got a 4 game home stand and we play NYI and Detroit, two teams were chasing. We basically have to try and get all 4 wins here, especially with a tough stretch at the end of the month.

It’s terrible considering our season is on the line and we couldn’t beat the Ducks and we got absolutely dominated by the Sharks in the win. LA also played 3 games in 4 nights and dummied us in the crucial 3rd period.

There’s cope and silver linings available for every single loss if you look hard enough. Thing is, our 5 on 5 play has been declining for 3 weeks now and we haven’t outright looked better than our opponent since the Philly game. Those Boston and Toronto games are ancient history now.

Defend away.

They are points we wouldn’t have gotten last year. We are downright bad against Western conference teams on the road, we actually surpassed our wins from all last season already lol
