It was the two back to back losses against Philly and Carolina that killed all their momentum. It unfortunately completely sucked the life out of the arena too, I was at the Calgary game and it was a super lame crowd, I can imagine it makes it that much tougher for the players to play with intensity and passion when their home arena has crickets chirping.
I agree those 2 games did affect them, but permanently? So now they won't play that style of game anymore because they didn't win? So what's the plan? Go back to playing low IQ pond hockey? Is that the reason they stopped playing the new system consistently and compete throughout the game, not only in the 3rd period?

Personally I think the new system requires a lot of hard work and focus so when they lost those 2 games, they decided "why bother" and many of them went back to their old, unsuccessful style of play.

Either way, what a bunch of mental midgets.

I think their system requires confidence, and trust in your teammates to be in the right spot, and both of things have been shaken. They weren't thinking before, now they are. They have to get back to not thinking, and just playing.
