So honestly why all the hate ? it's getting old :shakehead ... Dean signed him for another 3 years, so he's here and not going anywhere soon, learn to appreciate what he does bring; Face-Offs, solid checking, tenacity, solid Penalty Killing, good teammate on and off the ice, and the ability to get under the opponents skin and into their heads rather well.

I might be alone on this, though I doubt it, but Stoll doesn't deserve to be this teams whipping boy IMO.

A bit late to the party but I am with you. He does so much that doesn't show up on the scoresheet but gets crapped on regularly here.

How many of these are offensive zone penalties?

It's easy to see why Stoll gets crapped on, he's taken 9 minor penalties and sometimes his line plays as many minutes as line #2 despite the lack of offensive production. Everyone ahead of him in PIM's on this team has taken major penalties. Mike took 19 minutes of penalties sticking up for Scuds in Columbus.

The thing is this year it seems like Stoll is playing less on the PP, playing better defensively and offensively at ES. This is nowhere near as much criticism as he'd get if he was playing poorly.
 
That Cup memory feature made me remember just how boring Kings hockey was under TM. Was great as a sports gambler with all those unders, but watching this style is worth that lost income.

pretty sure there's no need for PMing that stuff, it can just be plunked into the GDTs. Telos or some such benevolent mod mentioned that a couple weeks back.

Even I can admit as much here.

Much of the problems with Stoll are that he was grossly overused by the Kings from the second he got here. Him playing the point on the PP is still one of the major mysteries of Kings hockey the last 5 years.

Tonights PP goal by Brown, with Muzzin and Slava moving the puck like that would never happen with him at the point.

Stoll is ok in his current energy line role where he isn't asked to do any heavy lifting offensively or defensively. The dumb penalties are the biggest gripe now that he is off the point on the PP.
 
I don't feel one ounce of sadness for Murray's firing. He sucked plain and simple and he needed to go. I will admit I was VERY wrong about Sutter.

They're against the board's policy I believe. If a mod here said its fine, then either he or the mods on the MMA board are lying. :laugh:

Me neither. I also was wrong about Sutter and thought that he wouldn't be able to get these guys playing different hockey without throwing away a lot of the personnel.

I will never have one ounce of sadness or regret over TM and neither will anyone on this board.

You can't post them on the MMA board because they're pay-per-view.

Nothing wrong with plunking down a link in here. The NHL clearly does not care or they'd have tried to stop it at some point.
 
It's so great going into games against even better teams than this feeling like the Kings are capable of doing whatever they want. I love it.

And that swagger is what made them so lethal during the playoffs. And they're doing it w/o Mitchell and Greene which is impressive.
I think Sutter has shown what a great coach he is; he really knows how to motivate his players.
Muzzin just gets better every shift.

Right after I posted, I remembered that. But then I opted to get ice cream and a glass of water before the 2nd started. :laugh:

Agreed 100%.

DL is clearly very loyal, I think to a fault in this case. His time had clearly expired as Kings coach. It was clearly coaching that was holding this team back, the results speak for themselves.

TM's style of play was better than any sleep aid on the market...
 
I feel like that was the first time in a LONG time we've seen Kopi with time and space that close in and didn't score. Gotta be one of the best in the league at finishing those.
