I say Toffoli plays regardless. He wasn't called up to spectate. Give him a few games and then perhaps give Kozun a shot like others have suggested. These guys need a good pat on the back.

To me it seemed like they were already thinking about tomorrow night. Not a bright way to approach 20 minutes of hockey, but they got the job done. Nice to see Brown notch a couple goals, he's been due for another of his streaks. Drew, your time will come.

Also, props to Quick tonight for keeping the game under control throughout, particularly of those PKs in the 3rd. He needed a solid outing like this.
 
Anyone care to speculate on our odds of back to back season champions? The season started off slow, we are 8th in the league now but a lot of those games we're home games.

Obviously 6 of our points came from the worst team in the west, which is nice but it's hard to tell if we are really cup contenders after these last 2 games considering the team we played against and being at home.

The next couple games I think are going to be very revealing.

You don't change what is working. You can get upset that penner should have buried at least one tonight, but he suits Richards and carter perfectly. As long as he is being strong along the boards and working his ass off to get back on D..

He's been great lately. Everyone has off nights, I would not sit him yet. If they are going to take someone out for a game I suggest king.

I already had us repeating even with our slow start early on. We're a tough team to play against, especially if Willie and Greeen can make a comeback.

Lol. I have no idea what you're talking about. I love Penner. Penner's been good all season minus a couple of games, so, you're preaching to the wrong poster my friend. :)

Having said that, I can see Toffoli playing 3RW and Lewis playing 4C with Fraser sitting one out.
 
If Greene could make it back to replace Ellerby that'd just be great. I don't hate Ellerby or anything, but Greene is just a better defenseman. We've been winning, but we don't feel as solid defensively or on the PK as we did at the end of last season. I have to think that missing Greene and Mitchell has everything to do with that.

Penner gonna have nightmares tonight about being eaten alive by a gigantic wide open empty net.

Kopi had a couple of epic shifts tonight. Muzzin - Voynov - Doughty all studs. Kings looked better tonight. Didn't like the third period let-up.

OK, off to start a "What's wrong with Carter" thread. I mean, a one game without a goal streak? Weak.

My bad ...quotes went badly, was directed at previous posters wanting to sit penner.
