Good grief. Wasn't there a story recently at the top of the HF launch page titled something like "Columbus has enviable depth at all positions"? Curse be gone!

HF is a website devoted to prospects, doesn't say anything about NHL level depth.

Yes...he's inconsiquential...if the our few good players play well, our D is ok and bob is on his game, we'll win. Games don't hinge of whether or not expendable 4th liners are in the lineup.

But is it better? What you're saying here isn't the same as it being better. Your earlier post meant, quite flatly, that Sean Collins (and now, a player playing out of position) would make the Jackets an improved team over the team it would be with Mackenzie in the lineup.

Are you really saying Boll has no heart? I don't disagree with Mac, I wish more guys were like him as well, but Boll is not one of them, a guy that has more fights in the NHL than any other player for the last 5 years or so, should never be questioned for heart, i'm sure if he can play, he will play.

Calm down, I'm not talking about Boll.

With the way both teams have played - and both fanbases typically react - the fact that the Leafs are favored, hot, and their fans have already written this off as a victory; coupled with the fact that the Jackets are underdogs, cold, and many of our fans have written this off as a loss; says to me that the Jackets will win this one, handily.

4-1 good guys.

Well, when talking about CBJ overall lineup i dont believe interchangable 4th liners make much difference...but yes I do think collins in and mac out would be an improvement.

Everyone lauds the 4th line here and I don't get it.

But whatevs. Go Jackets.

It's because of all the jam and sandpaper. That's the recipe for the perfect manly sandwich.

Couple things. I really cannot stand like 85% of Toronto fans on here. I know they've been better the last few years but throughout my 15 or so years of watching the NHL and knowing what was really going on they've been no better(if not worse) as a team than the Jackets. **** add in Ranger fans. But they seem to forget all the times they've been a bottom 5 team recently as if their opinions and just team in general are a gift to the hockey world.

And when healthy I'd take Chaput over Mackenzie. Chaput's actual skill with the puck outweighs the speed and grit that Mackenzie brings over him. Having say Comeau or Letestu and Boll on the wings would fit better with a guy like Chaput. Actually it would probably be better with both Mackenzie and Chaput in with Boll. Haven't been a fan of Comeau OR Letestu this year.

Also don't think Collins is the answer. WHERE IS JAM?!!? Dude can't even get a look anymore? Would bring more skill than anybody in our bottom 6.

We should also look into this youngster from Quebec, Sable-Papier. He'd be PERFECT for our 4th line.

maybe we should have kept all 3 of our 1st round draftees this year and made them our 4th line. I mean they have skill and upside, I hear thats what wins and not gritty guys.
Every team in the league needs guys like MacKenzie. Look at the year Boston won the cup, to me nothing was more important to Boston then that 4th line. Lots of skill? nope but they did everything a 4th line is supposed to and worn people down and made the most of it.
The 4th line is not the issue here. It's actually the guys that are supposed to be the skilled guys. Yeah we have injuries but **** happens. Toronto was down 3 centers and they dealt with it just like every other team in the league. At some point something gonna have to happen but I can promise you putting in Chaput and Collins in over Boll and MacKenzie is not going to spark an 18-5-5 streak.

JAM has been rather invisible for Springfield this season. He had a 12 game scoreless streak.

Springfield has a 6 game winning streak and is in 2nd place in the Eastern conference, but the goalscoring has been by committee. Their leading scorers are Tim Erixon and defenseman Frederic St. Denis. After that is Jake Hansen. I don't think the answers to the Jackets' scoring problems are in Springfield.
