Our only hope is ...

- Price is Price all the way till 38
- Primeau turns into a starting goalie and we flip him for a valuable piece we need. Or we are able to trade Price and Keep Primeau. Regardless, I expect some sort of overlap where we have both for a year or two.
- Suzuki and Caufield are a dynamic dual and 100 pt threats
- And if not Hall, we get someone like that as a UFA some day lol.
- Kotkaniemi and Poehling are impact centers
- We have our young defense men reach their potential... Romanov, Norlinder, Brook, Fleury, Harris, Juulsen, Mete

That it. That's all we need to be a contender lol.

I know that a lot would have to right to contend, but as we strive to get there, if only we could roster that one franchise forward who is worth the price of admission.

Would go a long way to help spike interest while we wait.

Halak tonight eh...

Can't say I'm surprised after Rask's last game in Montreal.

No idea what to expect tonight after Saturday.

Hopefully this team has some pride and comes out hard after embarrassing themselves.

I don't get this...
Which franchise will sell out every night and make high sales on merch when tanking? Not a single one.
But if ANY team can survive going through a tank, it's Montreal. Also, where is your proof/evidence that if Mtl tanks, they actually become an unprofitable business?
You know the Habs was still doing great with ticket sales during the dark Houle years right? During our bad bottom finishes, we also were still selling out most games.

So what do you mean things would be ''disastrous financially'?? You are aware that when we finished at the bottom just 2 years ago, we had a record high in revenue? Just because you can spot some empty seats at the Bell Center doesn't mean Habs are actually doing bad man.
Montreal would be doing just A-Okay if we tanked for a couple years....you are 100% off the mark on this one. You just swallowed up this fake BS narrative brought forth solely by the media. I don't know how or when it originated and who's responsible for it, but it's such ****ing garbage.
Montreal would be completely fine with a rebuild and so would the city.

calm yourself with the cursing...

I think you're 100% wrong.

The value of our team was very low after the Houle years, when Gillette bought the team. Whenever the team is bad the scalpers do very poorly. Demand goes way down. You're seeing demand go down now after a string of bad years, not simply tanking for a couple years.

Look at the thread in our own forum about passion and interest level being low. This affects the bottom line whether you understand it or not.

Anyways with all your cursing and attitude problems, you're on ignore, to put it civilly. You can think whatever you want.

Habs will lose 2-1. Halak will play on his head and block 40 shots and Price will let a couple of softies go by despite receiving only 20 shots.

The guy has attitude issues. Can't have a rational conversation. I could easily curse him out. But the mods don't want that. So just forget him. It's simple. LMAO

Great GDT, Marchand especially! They should force him to wear a blonde wig 24/7 next time he gets a suspension!
They show it on ESPN Plus as well so I will be able to watch it once I have taken Carlito out.

4-1 to the Habs and a fight between Domi and Marchand.

Re: the poll question, heard on the radio that 4 teams this year have blown 4-0 leads. And, there's also a record number of teams losing after leading. So, it seems it's part of the new, younger, faster, more wide open NHL.

I believe the Nucks blew a large lead against the Caps at home and lost in OT.

Do you remember the Houle years? They weren't trying to tank then either. It was a reluctance to tank and acceptable of mediocrity that hurt their profits.

Sens & Hawks are scouting the Bruins for their next game.
Avs are scouting Habs & Bruins for their next game.
Kings, Knights, Stars and Leafs scouts are there for the free lunch.

I'm surprised that Pierre Gauthier isn't the one there for Chicago. And that Andre Savard isn't there for the Devils.

Those two are ALWAYS there.

Pierre Turgeon was our 3rd line center at one point during the Houle years, behind Damphousse and Koivu.
Did he ever wreck the team.

Gillette swooped in and bought the team for 100 or 200 something million, then sold us for over 500 million.

Molson took out a huge loan to pay for the team. The value of the team has continued to increase, due to the value of sports teams continuing to go up. But, I would guess, unless he sells, he still has huge loan payments to make.

I don't have access to his books. But I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to have a competitive team now for financial reasons. If we tank, suck for a long time, and the value of the team plummets, that's a huge risk. Ever since we lost to the Rangers in the first round, then had a horrendous year, interest in the team must have gone down. Last season revived interest, but it's been hurt. If we end up sucking this year, I wouldn't be surprised if it hurts him financially, including next year.
