A thing we probably forgot during the game.... we just beat the team that's tied for 3rd in the league and 2 days ago we beat the team (at the time) that was ranked 10th in the league. We didn't score a combined 8 goals on two lower teams.
We have wins against the Canes, Rangers, Lightning, Maple Leafs, and Devils.

The TRUE test will come when we face the the bottom feeders which have given us so much trouble over the last couple years.

Ref Louis

First three officiating breaks have gone our way…

Buchy tripped a defender right before Thommer’s goal.
The too many men penalty was weak.
Pesce got cross-checked to the ice giving Holloway space/time to score.
Between Ref Louis (which was real as you note), Chuckie Sideburns' own goal, and Binnington's shutout for the all time record, the universe is handing Dizee the L on November 27, even he has to agree

Great to see The Blues playing the way they should have been all along under Monty. Going to the net, shooting whenever they get the chance. It pays off. Nice goals by Holloway and Thomas. Lots of good chances. 11-12. This team can easily get back into the Wild Card race, even having to wait a while longer for Broberg to return. Faksa and Schenn joined Thomas in winning good % of their faceoffs. Most of this season only Thomas was holding his own. There's a new spirit and energy with Montgomery. I hope that isn't ALL that the improvement is. I hope there is significant time put into working on skills to improve them. Binnington played a great game. Binnington has the most wins of any Blues' goalie. I look forward to a good near-future for the team.

Great work to get a lead but they didnt keep their foot down and got outworked the last 2 periods

Advanced stats will hate this game but getting a lead early is important and that was the difference

Still a lot to clean up

A win is a win, especially a shutout, but the Blues were playing with fire those last two periods. They played great with the lead against the Rangers, we need more of that. Lessons are learned easier after a win anyway.

Had my laptop still packed away because of holiday travel, couldn't post here, but was able to watch game starting with the 3rd goal by Holloway.....man, I get in a great mood when we win! We went "Full Monty" again!

Let's not overread the Rangers win, they are in chaos over there. Blues can absolutely use the Ranger gift to build their own momentum though, but they cannot expect games to unfold that way. It'll be more like the Devils game where they'll have to seize games and hold on.

We also need to see them fall behind and see how they respond

Nobody needs to see them fall behind. You can tell when it's gonna happen.
