I noticed it looks like Marshy was crying when he left the ice. Had his hand over his face similar to after the 2019 Cup loss. Could be just overwhelming emotionally to break his scoreless streak in such a dramatic way.

Could be some off ice personal stuff we don't know about. I do believe the Lucic incident has effected this team more emotionally than is publicly visible. Marchand would've been closer to him than anyone else. We'll never know.
I had a friend in recent years who did much worse than Looch did...I must say it was pretty conflicting knowing someone you've trusted and known is capable of something that bad, yet at the same time trying to understand that alcoholism and addiction are a very tough battle.

No doubt in my mind that the guys who know Looch very well may be struggling with what to feel with the situation - hard to know the right balance of wanting to support your friend getting help yet not condoning their actions.

Time for Sway to lead the way again.

Boys might be slow after last nights emotional rollercoaster.

Hurt people hurt people.

A little support for someone who is at the absolute bottom of their life can mean all the difference.
Helping someone who has done something wrong change is not supporting what they did.
We can still recognize something being wrong and still help that person change the course of their life.

Trust me on this.

We also had friends where physical violence was happening, we had no idea. It was scary, alcohol and drugs were not even factors, just plain mean. It is very difficult going forward, my loyalty was with the woman since she was and still is a best friend. She fled the country (LA) for a year while he lived around the corner from us. Yikes, those were bad times. The guys and their wives are going to be affected massively by this situation, no doubt in my mind.

Did not see last night's game but thrilled to see Marchy end it.
Question: why did Marchy leave the ice immediately after celebrating his goal?
Generally he (like Bergy and Chara before him) would give everyone a " good game tap" then leave the ice last.
Marchy left with everyone else and as he was skating off he was holding his mouth.

Played in a rod hockey tourney last (3 sets of vintage 1968 Eagle sets) and I pulled off winning the championship.

This guy (Frank Bremsik) was a standout!!!

Table hockey rules ! Metal players … very nice ! I have an old Bobby Orr hockey game from the early 70s. Beat to hell but still fun.

I as well recently had a friend get arrested for a violent act and had to deal with how to process and move forward. Sounds like there's a lot of us who know the feeling and the ripple effects it can have. My friend's incident was caught on security cameras and published to the internet so everyone in our friend group saw exactly what happened and a good chunk of our circle immediately cut ties. I've tried to support within reason because I don't think his actions were a pattern but rather a one-off but my wife would probably prefer to never see him again. He's lucky that his judge was incredibly kind with his sentencing, probably because they could see this wasn't a cut-throat evil doer but rather someone who was in a bad place and lost control one.

One take away is that the justice system is very slow and just when you think you've put something in the rearview mirror suddenly you hear an update about the case that brings everything back front and center. I'd think most of the team will have an easy time not getting distracted, but for someone like Marchy who was drafted along side Lucic then won a Cup together, and who is clearly a highly emotional person, it could take a pretty substantial emotional toll.

The players though have attached plastic sticks.

The set I had as a kid were all metal players, so we curved our sticks and made it an art to get it over the goalies shoulder.

We used to do that, put numbers on their backs and when a player wore a helmet we'd put one on him with a Sharpie. When a player was bald (Gary Doak) we made him bald. I had several sets. 2 that were presents and then when I would hear that someone didn't want theirs I would take it. I just bought an early 1970s Coleco set on Ebay for my grandkids because we have some Euro version ones that they like using but the set are trash/delicate. I've been bragging about the old Coleco ones to them, so when I saw one at a reasonable price I grabbed it. Got it yesterday, but because they have their games to play in, we haven't used it yet. The great thing about those old Eagle/Coleco sets was their incredible durability. At one point, my dad made 8" high plexiglass enclosures for 2 of our sets because we got very good at actually shooting the puck out.

Last night my son did something funny. He's 28 years old and can be a bit of an ass like myself.

Theres a rule if a player comes off you cannot put him back on until either a goal is scored or the puck goes over the boards.
Thus the guy he's playing against, his dman comes off. My son then swats the fallen player into the opposing net and jams him underneath the goalie with his centerman. The goalie could not move!
He eventually scored rather easily.
Did his dad proud!!!

Wow, there’s a game tonight? I thought I was still in the post-game thread lol.
Go Bruins!!!!
I didn't realize there was a game tonight either until I logged in here

It might take the B's' awhile to get into this game after last night's emotional roller coaster, but hopefully they'll have enough desire and gas in the tank

These Sunday night games ought to be outlawed.
Agree...at least until the NFL games are over

Welcome to the Jungle
Tough one to figure, it's a revenge game, but I have a feeling CBJ might be a nemesis this year because they hustle and create lots of quality chances. Some of them also float and give up lots of quality chances. Tough to figure. Officiating will mean a lot, and for once, I like the crew. Of course, that means it will be a horribly officiated game.
Not tough to figure where you’ll land. How to get there is the challenge. Our nemesis the CBJ who have more hustle on 4LW then we have throughout the roster. 😀

After what happened last week, gotta feel like we just murder these guys in response. But they might have another letdown trap game after last night's big win

Heading off in about an hour to meet @Ladyfan :nod:at the Gahden!

Hope the back to back scheduling is not a factor. Bluejackets have their Dads with them and all spent last night enjoying themselves (hopefully heartily!;)) in Boston. Don’t get pushed around in your own building, pay attention to details, forechecking would be helpful!

Here we go :bruins here we go!!:clap:
