The old Adams division days may have been one of my most favorite times.
Wally, I think back in the days they had the Adams Division was the best hockey I have ever watched.{I'm almost 54}. Who can remember when the Bruins division consisted of the Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, California Golden Seals and Toronto Maple Leafs?? It only lasted from 1974-76. Bruins won Division each year if I recall correctly. The Adams Division was formed as a result of NHL realignment. The Golden Seals were origionally a team from the Western Division. Later in 1976, Seals were replaced by Cleveland Barons and it lasted until 1978. The Cleveland Barons merge with the Minnesota North Stars so in 78 the Adams were the previous 3 teams plus now the North Stars. Ok, from 1981-1992, Leafs and Stars moved out west to the Norris Division and now the Adam Div consisted of Boston, Buffalo, Hartford Whalers, Quebec Nordiques and the Montreal Canadians. Ottawa Senators made up 6 teams in Adams Div in the 92-93 season. At the end of that season, The league was reformatted into two conferences with two divisions each. And the rest is history.
Wally, I thought you and the board might have found this interesting BUT I may have bored all you guys/gals to death.
Getting back to tonights game, Been awhile since the Canes have beaten the Bruins but they played good hockey all November, beating good teams like SJ and the Habbies. Bruins still without Chara/Liles, will have all they can handle tonight but I feel they'll win a close game, hopefully in regulation. GO BRUINS!!!
