Totally agree.

I thought Lohrei had more offensive jump then most of the team. At least he was trying to generate something rather than the old dump and chase.

Totally agree.

Absolutely. And they need to live thru his warts as a PP QB because Mac is not the answer there.

It’s not expectations. It was a good game. It’s regular season and we’re looking for a better D structure and a different offensive mindset. I think they are doing ok. They had tons of chances. I think they still pass one or two many times. That system is still present. The PP needs Lohrei there. Too many passes are telegraphed. They need to be quicker and take a shot from the point once in a while.

A lot of turnover there. They’ll play better as the season goes.

Totally agree. They out shot and out chanced Vancouver by a large margin. 13-1 High danger scoring chances. They are shooting 1.6% 5 on 5 under Sacco. Even the historically worst teams of all time are better than that. They have an entire roster that has been cold at the exact same time. The positives are the PK, goaltending, defense look significantly better.

The PP still needs to be fixed because I don't believe that is bad luck - I think its poor coaching, strategy and execution.

Yea it's cause Pasta playing with bums like him in Geekie. You could see it on David's face when he was shown on bench in the 3rd.Total frustration.Freddy even mentioned in same breathe as Pasta is just wrong.
You could switch those guys jerseys and you wouldn't know which is which.

2015 Draft will haunt him forever. No one left from 3 consecutive picks in R1 and 2 are out of NHL.

Honestly #63 hand \eye has deteriorated to the point that McAvoy and Zacha have better hand\eye.
players who was on priority list of 99,9999% of humanity in 2015 draft are 14th 17th and 28th places in nhl scoring and that not include barzal and chabot…

Problem is that the only real star in that group is Pasta
Agreed. I think we're watching the bottom fall out from under Marchand. He's just not the guy anymore. The earlier rumours of them working on a three year deal with him scares the f out of me because as great as he's been as a Bruin he won't be good for three more seasons.

Ugh. Oow.

Well, they kept up the relatively better defensive play, and had enough scoring chances, but they regressed back to sloppy passing. Never seen a group of players forget en masse how to make a tape-to-tape(ish) pass. Completely stymies the flow.

Swayman was good, at least. I thought he was solid. Unfortunately the Van goalie was better.

What does it say when our two best zone-entry puck carriers are D-men? McAvoy and Lohrei.

They only have one guy that can shoot left on the team. Last year they had 3 in Pasta, Debrusk and Marchand. One left, one had multiple surgeries and doesn't have the quick reflex anymore to get his shot off. All these other guys are not goal scorers.

When you are calling up Patrick brown, McLaughlin and Viel as your sparks, your roster is in trouble. Their one prospect that's supposed to be a scorer can't crack the show. They are toast. This is gonna hurt.

Last year was supposed to be the reset year after they dumped so much talent and signed a bunch of 1 year deals as trade deadline fodder. Unfortunately, they were in first place all year until the end.

Still, better to play a tight defensive game then get blown out every other night.

Sweeney has three options at this point, only two are realistic.

He can buy and spend and try to instill some life and scoring into the team right now. Get aggressive and mortgage more future.

Or can get aggressive and sell everything he can for picks, prospects and shitty contracts. Keep pasta and away and move anything else that will sell.

Or, let whatever happens this year happen. Add where they can, and slowly build this thing back up over the next 3-5 years.

What's the hope? That they end up the 8th seed and lose in the first round? They have 5 on 5 goal in 137 minutes under Sacco, against 3 dogmeat teams. For the year they are the 3rd worst team in the league in 5 on 5 goals. What do you expect them to turn into?

There is room for a "meh" team to make the playoffs, and it could be them. But no coaching change is going to make them into skilled offensive players.

Sending a 1st rd pick to add a mediocre scoring winger so the team can sneak in as the 8th seed and lose in the 1st round really doesn't seem like the right choice for what this team needs to be doing for its long term healt.

You may not fix it., but you need to give them time. They are playing in a different system in getting pucks to the net. Players have been bounced around so much, that I don’t think anyone has any kind of comfort with each other. Monty just changed things too much. We need some stability in the lines. Berry and Marchand got that comfort zone from constantly playing together. I believe it can get better. This is their camp. Let’s give it time with the new system.
That's fair for sure.

The only thing that will motivate him is if he sees one of his country club buddies like Coyle or Carlo sent packing for Calgary.
Flames Don't want them. They are way ahead of Bruins in retooling for future with some really good young players getting mins.Miramanov is playing very well so wanting Carlo does not make sense e for them + Anderson a right shot with Weeger & Zary Kadri Huberdeau Backlund all have centre position covered.

It hasn't happened overnight though, we could see signs of it all of last year. Still an effective player, but can't drive the line all by himself.

I think Marchand has been better as of late.

I'd like to see Blake Coleman on the Bruins, but that's probably not happening.
