I don’t know what kind of return you would get for Zacha & Fred (and/or Geekie) and the other GM’s will see us coming from a long way off. Zacha is snake-bitten at the moment and Fred just seems to be going through the motions. Adding or substituting Geekie does not seem to move the needle much, but I will keep an open mind.

I don't expect that the return for Zacha would be huge, but what other options do the Bruins have? They are not exactly flush with either talent or assets.

This team has been in a purgatory of talent since Bergy retired, and we'll continue to be here until they properly rebuild.

Barely any finishers on the roster and games like this will happen if the game isn't 2-1. They are designed this way off of bottom-to-middle 6 forwards that had career years and all of them have regressed. Not a single forward pulling their weight. Effort is there, but zero finish.

They just need to give guys like Poitras, Merkulov, or Lysell extended (and serious) looks whether they like it or not. They have 1, maybe 2, creators with the puck.

Sweeney has proven adept at certain maze, like bringing in corposala and Catholic for omar. Finding omarch to begin with, on a dreadful Buffalo club.

As noted, he and Neely have given the Bruins everything they can. Everything they are capable of. I would much prefer to move on.

The team this year has been some of the most boring hockey I've watched in a very long time.

It wasn't "boring" it was near flawless defense beginning to end and they were better than Vancouver in every aspect but one and that's the PP. This team simply cannot score and you cannot go very far if you can't score. And don't tell me they faced a hot goalie, they can't score on anybody.

McLaughlin not the answer. Try the next one.

Frustrating in the title is the right word.

1. The Good: The discipline that the team has shown under Coach Sacco.
2. The defense and forwards pulling together to shut down 98% of the oppositions attack.

The Bad: The fact that we have the most limited forward group inmh memory
The Ugly: The Bruins so called "power play."
Sweeney has never made a blockbuster trade that I can think of
nor has he made even an in season trade that you could call a splash.
He's deliberate, exacting and never makes moves without (IMO) overthinking.
Right now he's stopped the bleeding but the team needs an infusion or it may
wither away.
Something needs to be done sooner rather than later.
Will he gave the fortitude (balls) to pull off some sort of big move or moves to shake up the team.
He'll probably wait for at least several more games because he doesn't make hasty decisions.
The clock is ticking, the Bruins are still at 500 although it's been only 3 games
since Sacco took over behind the bench.
It's going to be interesting to see how exactly he reacts to this (can I say) crisis?

The Bruins have some serious issues.
We can all say "get rid of talent and reboot" but sellouts at the Garden become less and less. Which means less $$$$$

Or they think this thing thru. In other words, the Trade Deadline is now.
The defence is fine (except McAvoy is not worth what he's getting.)
The talent we have up front consists of an aging Captain who bless his heart, brings it every night .

Lindholm, Zacha and Coyle have to be the 3 worst centerman in Bruins history. Honestly! Just horrible. Zero imagination with the puck.
We can replace Fredric with anybody from Providence and no one would notice the difference.
Yet going to Providence to work out a solution...is that really the answer , especially when we have players already on the team who are borderline AHLers?

Last time i can remember a Bruins team this bad offensively was 09/10 and even then that team had to deal with;

- Phil Kessel and his 30+ goals wanting out, which led to an obviously great package but nothing to help them in the short term

- Marc Savard having his brains scrambled by Matt Cooke later in the year

- Marco Sturm tearing his ACL again in the second round against Philly

- Milan Lucic suffering a high ankle sprain early in the season where he basically never fully recovered from it while missing a couple dozen games

- Having to rely on an absolute who's who of underachievers to carry the depth in Michael Ryder, Miroslav Satan, Blake Wheeler and an ancient Mark Recchi (who was really good to be fair but still) while Bergeron and Krejci desperately tried to drive the offense.

The fact that team somehow managed to get past Buffalo in round 1 is an indictment on the Sabres.
