HERE'S MONTY. Armstrong and Stillman make a move, and Jim Montgomery is your new Blues head coach. Broberg is on the trip and skating without a non-contact jersey (will not play tonight tho). The turn around of the team is not going to happen over night and I don't think the upper management expects us to be competing for the playoffs this year. Army was very vocal about how Monty is the guy being brought in to build the Blues back into a contender, not come in to be a contender right now. So, trains are sticking around!!

Bolduc and Hofer in. That's a good start to the reign of Monty. Although with Sunny in the middle, it could be another 8 minute night for Boldy and Holloway.

Keeping a close eye on Miller. My impression of him is that he is methodical and calm, but also that he seems to not expend much energy. I wonder whether he simply doesn't care enough, not that he's low-IQ. Either way, I'm not as impressed as I was two seasons ago.

Saad/Schenn/Kyrou is one of the worst lines in the NHL. I mean that literally, someone posted the best and worst line combos with minimum 50 minutes played 5v5 and they were like 10th from the bottom for possession, xGF% etc. Holloway or Bolduc should be on that line, anything but those three.

Glad to see Hofer getting a start. Binnington is once again amongst the league leaders in games started, which is so baffling since Hofer is at the very least a quality backup.

Very excited to watch this game tonight, I think Bannister was coaching like he was worried about getting fired, whereas Monty can come in and give guys like Holloway and Bolduc longer leashes (Not that they needed ones, they've both been completely fine imo compared to Schenn/Saad). Hope I don't pass out by the middle of the second period!

Maybe they are hoping that Kryou's stellar 5v5 play this year can help lift the other two who have been dreadful as of late.

Kreider out. Brett Berard making his NHL debut for the Rangers tonight, alonside Zibenajad & Cuylle on their 2nd line. Should we just go ahead and pencil a goal in for him tonight? Shesterkin getting the start, so the Blues need about 70 shots on goal to get to 4 goals. Would be nice to see some offense instead of watching this team scratch and claw to score twice. Good night to keep the tank rolling. Monty can right the ship next year...

How long until the "Monty doesn't know what he's doing" posts start?

Is Kreider injured, benched or getting traded?

I really like seeing Buch-Thomas-Neighbours back together. They were one of my favorite trios last season.

I’m curious to see how Saad-Schenn-Kyrou looks tonight though. They’ve had success in the past, but Saad and Schenn haven’t looked great this year.

Also is Joseph still dealing with his injury? I don’t think he’s the 13th best forward on this team.

Depending on how we look tonight, I’d like to see these combos soon:

Buchnevich-Thomas-Neighbours
Bolduc-Schenn-Kyrou
Saad-Holloway-Joseph
Toropchenko-Faksa-Walker/Sundqvist
Texier

Is Kreider injured, benched or getting traded?

All of the above
