Anyone who has watched Pasta for the last 8 yrs knows what he is capable of.

Something is drastically wrong . If it's not physical then he needs to see the head doctor
Seems mental, he gets the puck and stops moving his feet and over thinks everything and other teams get on him quickly. He is the only threat, so they target him and he knows its coming. He misses Bergy as the outlet pass guy bigtime.

Gotta hand it to management. If you shitcan coach, do it when schedule is soft.

Bruins winning against Utah and Detroit shouldn’t be a big deal but they NEED to right the ship to build confidence. Weak opposition and dead coach bounce is super helpful. If they can continue this next stretch as you say, might be enough to make season a lot better.

Say what you want about this roster, it is a LOT better than the results to date. Confidence, or lack thereof, is a mysterious thing.

Damn. That was quick. Was Monty trying to get fired?

Only half joking, to be honest.
5 yrs ..Hey, good for him ,but I am still happy Boston moved on.I found him very arrogant.

Improved team defense and special teams. Bruins need to work on their 5 on 5 production, but they are taking the right steps forward.
They got one 5 on 5 finally last night.

Two wins in a row. What did Sacco do to get two wins in a row?
The biggest difference I've seen in the last two games is the Bruins forwards are staying for the most part in the defensive zone until the puck is out, sometimes all five deep in the zone tops of the circles.
Previously forwards would cheat and be out near center ice looking for a breakout pass.
Now everybody is coming back and working together to get the puck out.

Secondly, on offense they are willing to dump the puck in deep and go get it with a strong forecheck along the boards and behind the net.
Previously, the offense was almost always created off the rush with several passes looking for the open guy or perfect shot often resulting in a one and done scoring attempt if the shot even made it to the net.
The dump and chase is more protective of the puck late in games with the lead as play is along the boards eating time off the clock and slowing the oppents breakout.
A much heavier and deliberately prolonged forecheck throughout the game with less errant passes through the center of the ice.

Third, in the defensive zone, because they have five men back they are taking away the center portion of the ice and trying to force everything to the outside.
This forces the oppents to try and make plays along the perimeter.
Boston is playing smart defensive hockey keeping the puck primarily along the boards when clearing the zone and have two men near each other at the top of the zone.
One near the boards trying to get the puck out and a second man a couple a feet away as secondary support either for a short pass off the boards or an extra body along the boards to help overpower the oppent.

Fourth, the penalty kill is playing more aggressive and more often attacking the puck carrier forcing them to move the puck before they can get set up.
All the PK are moving together with the intention of keeping the puck on the perimeter, taking away the slot, and not allowing them any options other than to move the puck on the outside.

Boston's PP has players moving throughout the zone and is no longer looking exclusively to set Pastrnak up for a one timer.
Again here they are willing to dump and chase rather than always trying to create plays exclusively off the zone entry rush.
They are not looking for the perfect shot but rather looking to put shots on net and out man the oppent on any rebounds and loose pucks.
In most cases taking the shot rather than pasing it off.

Overall, players are better positioned, seem to know, or are learning, their purpose and primary responsibility on the ice. This team still has to do a better job of putting the puck in the net on their opportunities and probably needs to add another offensive threat at some point during the season.

Improvement has been made with only a few practices squeezed in around games against weak opponents. The game against Vancouver will be a good measuring point with the first real test coming December 10th. Until then more practices and games to continue to make adjustments and have everybody fine tune their rolls, purpose, and positioning without thinking about it.

Lots of small pros that I've noticed in the last couple games.
One would be the added fore check that has been lacking since ooooooooh ....1994.
The defense tightened up as well.
More shots on the PP is always good.

The guy that's impressing me as well is Lohrei.
Still learning, but his ability to carry the puck into the zone without panicking is nice to see rather than shooting it in, shooting it in, shooting it in....

As for Swayman.... He played well, but I see better teams feasting off going over his shoulders as he's been playing well back in the net and going down way too soon.

Boy did Quick get lit up v the Oilers!!!! Poor bastard!! Dude got a reality check after putting up some incredible digits.

Lohrei is one of those kids who I love, takes chances with the puck , will make mistakes but doesn`t seem to let that deter him from playing his game.

While I think he`ll start making more mature plays with more experience, I hope Sacco or whomever winds up being FTC doesn`t break the kids spirit and natural tendencies and allows him to use his unique skillset.

I`d like to see the kid still add a bit of bulk but not at the expense of it slowing him down or affecting his mobility

I`m pretty sure is was our great friend @DominicT who has mentioned more than a few times he thinks he`ll be better than Noah Hanifan, I didn`t really watch much of NH in his early career but if Lohrei winds up being better than him.....I`ll take it, kid looks well on his way

The number of recent bashed roster moves that are bearing fruit. Peeke, Kastelic, Korpi (after the Goalie Bob chip inserted into his brain).
Did anyone notice Sacco had Koepke (speed, maybe a Jake replacement on PK) playing PK. Just trying things that Monty could try..........like keeping guys together long enough to click.
It's obvious Monty never had to panic in Boston before this year. (IN THE REGULAR SEASON!)
But his coaching in the PO's should have foreshadowed his demise. Not a steady hand coach.
He was a frontrunner from the go here. We never saw him have to adjust and when he needed to he couldn't.

Monty and Clode, oh my!!! a Boston reject two-fer

The lack of mea culpas from people that bash the moves and then move on to the next thing they will end up being wrong about always cracks me up.

I disagree. From where I sit it is a physical thing he has been nursing since the season started. He gets hit a lot (as he is such a scoring threat) .

They are not going to announce what is up as he is playing.
