I love the positivity but they squeaked out a couple of wins against bad teams. This roster is not very good. Can they possibly get into the playoffs? Sure. Can they compete with the big boys in the East? Rangers, Canes, Panthers et al. No! At some point you are going to have to play the kids and see what you have. Why continue to play the wide range of plugs currently on the big team. This team ain’t good enough to win it all. At some point you have to take a few steps back before you can move forward.

The problem with this is what kids do we have that project to be NHL regulars? Maybe Merk and Lysell although they have not earned it yet, and certainly havent looked NHL ready in their limited looks. The cupboards are empty.

Perhaps some changes in his life have changed his focus on hockey. Or maybe he's listening to the wife's bad advice on how to be better.
We need him back to what he was though that's for sure.
Yes, two games now I've noticed the D drops back a lot quicker, and they are focused on D first and that is more comfortable I think for Zadorov.
Monty was all about having the D drive the play and now they are just shooting, or dumping it in.

I don’t disagree. However, Look at the production of Lysell and Potsie down in providence. Struggling. They are not awful prospects or as bad as their play indicates right now. It’s then Gen Z mentality. todays young players are not used to dealing with adversity. They are stroked at an early age and used to being the man. Right or wrong you have to build these kids up somehow. I’d argue bringing them up and learning on the fly would help in this case. Let them play. They can’t be worse than some of the garbage playing right now. At some point you have to get faster and more skilled. This team is not that.

Potsie I forgot about, he has real potential but again he isn't ready. Had a real lengthy look to start the season, wasn't doing much on the scoresheet but was getting absolutely rocked every game. Can't risk him getting seriously hurt, has to learn to not put himself in positions like that.

I talk to @Saxon Eric multiple times a week and at some point we both discuss how we despise Monty style and system
Add Lindholm & get Swayman back, tighten things up and they should be in 95% of the games late

DETROIT — In Motor City, with 61 games to go in the regular season, the Bruins hoped Jeremy Swayman would get his motor running.
“I think Sway needs to get the net again,” said Joe Sacco, prior to working his second game as interim bench boss. “I think we all agree that he needs to be back in the net.
“He’s still our guy. He’s going to work his way, going to be fine.”
Swayman, anointed the franchise tender with his eight-year, $66 million deal on the eve of the regular season, got the start Saturday after suffering back-to-back thumpings in which he yielded 12 goals.
He made the decision look like genius, as he stopped 19 of 20 shots to pick up a 2-1 victory. The win moved Swayman to 6-7-2 on the season in 15 starts.
“It’s been a little bit of a road to get here,” Swayman said after the win, first noting that he felt better about his game overall. “Bob [Essensa, goalie coach] and I have had some elite practice days, allowing me to get my reads back, and we’re going to keep doing that. It starts in practice.”
The five-spot he allowed Monday against the Blue Jackets was among the club’s worst defensive efforts in Don Sweeney’s years as general manager (since 2015) — no doubt playing part in the decision to fire Jim Montgomery.
Backup Joonas Korpisalo drew the start in Sacco’s debut, a 1-0 win over Utah on Thursday. The agile Finnish stopper went 21 for 21 against the popgun Hockey Club offense. The team from Salt Lake City lacked much of anything in terms of offensive pepper, and the stingy Bruins nursed an Elias Lindholm power-play goal to their ninth win in 21 games.
Korpisalo is 3-0-1 in November, and if he were the club’s anointed No. 1, he more than likely would’ve had the start against the distant sons of Gordie Howe. But “Sway” was the way.
“Like I said,” offered Sacco, referring to Swayman, “if we’re better defensively in front of him, like we were last game for Korpy, then it’s going to make his job easier.”
Sacco’s charges delivered, killing all four of Detroit’s power plays, including one in the final 1:22 when the hosts put on the extra attacker for a 6-on-4 advantage.
“I’m happy for his response,” Sacco said about Swayman postgame. “I think it’s only a matter of time before Sway begins to find his groove, consistently.”

DETROIT — Career goal No. 407 off of Brad Marchand’s stick came with 8:30 to go Saturday night, in his 1,051st regular-season game, and it lifted the Bruins to a 2-1 win over the Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena.
The assists went to Andrew Peeke and David Pastrnak, and 25-30 years of repetition, muscle memory, and offensive guile.
“There’s a point of comfortability when you are in certain positions,” noted the Bruins captain, who snapped his short-range laser by Wings goalie Cam Talbot, high to the short side for the winner.
“Instinctively, you just know to shoot. That’s a shot that I’ve made since I was a kid, kinda coming around like that — just the way I set up the shot — something I worked on a lot when I was younger.
“It doesn’t happen a lot now, because teams are so quick to close defensively, but it’s nice when you get a little room like that.”
After officially entering a team-wide reframing with Tuesday’s dismissal of coach Jim Montgomery, in terms of confidence and execution and just plain trying to feel good about themselves, the Bruins have shown some signs of recovery:
▪ The win was their second in a row, something they did only twice before this season. Marchand’s goal was their first at even strength in their last three games.
▪ After allowing Utah only 21 shots in a 1-0 win on Thursday, they yielded only 20 to the Wings, helping to stabilize No. 1 goaltender Jeremy Swayman, who had allowed 12 goals across his prior two starts.
Swayman looked far more like the netminder who encouraged the Bruins to sign him to his 8-year, $66 million megadeal on the eve of the new season.
▪ In two games under interim coach Joe Sacco, they have shown far better defensive structure and mindset.
It remains to be seen if they have a lineup that can finish at the net, but they had some quality chances — not all on net — among their 51 shot attempts on Talbot.
The Bruins are a game over hockey .500 (10-9-3), and could move to a season-high two games above break-even Tuesday night when the Canucks visit Causeway Street.
“Something we’ve talked about as a group is taking pride in defending, and the structure we want to play with,” said Sacco. “That’s what we’ve had the last two games.
“I thought the first period we weren’t really skating the way we’re capable of, so we had to defend a little bit more than we would like. But overall, especially in the third period, we tilted the ice in our favor.”
“We seem to be a little bit more comfortable right now,” offered Marchand. “Effort seems higher … I like the way we closed the last couple of games, being tight, playing very well defensively. I do like that aspect of it.”

Was unable to watch this game but it sounds like the Bruins got a well deserved 2 points. I know the Bruins aren't blessed with a lot of firepower, but lately every goalie we face stands on his head, that will change, Pasta and others are too good to keep on firing blanks. What I am most pleased about with Sacco in charge is we are getting our structure back, with Monty this year we looked like a lost and confused team.

Everyone talking about Brad’s goal, but his pk’ing was also elite lastnight.
Panthers haven’t looked much better than the Bruins this year . 1-5 in their last 6 . I get what you are saying but look at the standings . Bruins are right in the mix . At the moment even finishing first in the division is not out of reach .
Win the next two before Thanksgiving and that puts us at 12-9-3 and most likely in the top 10 in points in the league. Not bad all things considered.
I think we will hopefully go on a nice run though Christmas and find ourselves back near the top 5 where we usually are.
Still would be nice to add a top 6 forward and then we can be considered a contender.

How do you know they can't who's to say they could not beat any of those teams in a playoff series as of the moment they are two points behind Florida did you know that despite how the bad things have been just get in be healthy and playing your best possible hockey in anything can happen I'm pretty sure two years ago you would have said Florida would have no chance of beating Boston in round 1 along with everybody else and we seen it happen the bruins can beat anybody they don't have to be the favorite to win yeah they won two in a row against bad teams but that's who they had on the schedule give them credit for taking care of business in moving in the right direction if you're not on the believing train then don't jump on it later on when they are doing well this team has all the vegans of a team that can go very far

D seems to be settling in and getting more reliable which is great. Really need to see the offense start to click to understand what we have here.
