giveaways like that are the norm this year..Shesterkin would have trouble here
just Grade AAA chances galore
You really need to start watching the games properly. They have had a couple with real bad giveaways. Guess it's not goalies job to stop them

The Oilers could allow zero high dangers until the last ten minutes. You don't expect them to mostly go in

He was .945 tonight
I don't give a rags behind about one game where he wasn't barraged like quick and had a 4-0 lead and even Ottawa 4-1 lol

He had a very easy night until we were up 4-1.

Like how hard is that to comprehend.

not all turnovers are created equal...Oilers give up AAA chances

Blackwood would get eaten alive here...just like Smith did, Talbot did, Dubnyk did

the list goes on and on...

Are you using the Staples definition? They don't give up many HDCA.
and the ones they do....AAA chances like the Nurse giveaway

or multiple 2 on 1s...for some reason, people think Blackwood will come in and be different than every other goalie that' s been here

I mean, goalies make saves against "AAA" chances, except Skinner.

How exactly did Smith get "eaten alive" here, if anything he found a late career 2nd wind here after looking totally done in Calgary.

Talbot still had three good seasons in a row here, one Vezina tier before falling apart, but our D suffered huge injuries. The team back then wasn't anywhere near as good as it is now.

Oilers win 6-2. Convo rages on about Skinner and I'm not even in it. lol. good game anyway, Rangers are NOT our Kryptonite. Its shocking in consecutive games how different the opponents can be. Rangers always look uncoached or uncoachable. The amount of dunderhead plays and wide open chances allowed. Without Quick this is double digits.

Kind of lol at Nugey expecting a tap in goal there where McD says f*** it you don't do anything, I'm just scoring this one. Janmark with another boss game. So good all areas of ice.

people wanted to fire Smith into the sun in 2021-22 when the Oilers lost like 13 of 15 games

I guess you missed the glove save on Kreider tonight in the 2nd period

it was a nice one
Its the kind of stop a goalie is supposed to make, several times a game. Skinner bags 1 or 2 like that in a game and most of what he saw was easy. Shot clock was not representative of play whatsoever. 10 shots on Skinner were just dumping the puck in, essentially.

Quick saw greater HDSC in first period than Skinner saw all game. Plus Skinner never having to look at the superstars of hockey. Even at that Panarin beat on him on a shot a goalie should have.

people wanted Smith gone, Holland did nothing...and Smith recovered

Stuart Skinner is no Mike Smith.

I hate when people use these kinds of analgoies as if they mean anything, like when Campbell kept getting compared to Grant Fuhr ... like wtf, lol.

Mike Smith would have a .915+ behind this team, maybe better. He never got to play with Ekholm and a much better defensive system that Knob has.

you're missing the point....people wanted Mike Smith GONE but Oiler fans constantly blame the goalie
every
single
year

it happened with Dubnyk, who went on to have success, it happened in Talbot...who went on to have success

hell, last year people were crying about Skinner and he recovered to play well the rest of the year

they'll bring in Blackwood, he'll have a few bad games then Oiler fans will rip him wondering why he isn't just "making the routine saves"

and like clockwork, they'll ask for another goalie

This organization is extremely lazy in bringing in goalies, you act like they've brought in a bunch of starters when the fact is they haven't.

They've had 2 total legit starters in the entire McDavid era, Talbot and then a 39/40/41 year old Mike Smith and that's it pretty much.

So really what you are sayingis that the AAA chances the Oilers give up dont matter and under no circumsatnces should Skinner ever be acknowledged for having a good game.
