This is a horror show that does not seem fixable. The whole team is lifeless. The leaders are gone. Checked out. They have no spines. And that is cascading on downward. Its over. Drury should start selling now to re-tool around specific players. Find a way out from Trouba, Lindgren, Zibanejad, Smith, and Trocheck. Although Trocheck I am inclined to hold onto within a new core group.

This is going to sound extreme, but I don't think a single player that has had a letter should be wearing a letter tomorrow in the game, except MAYBE Panarin bc the guy keep battling (I am very impressed with that) if you want to put a letter on cuylle for the game I'm good with it.

The fact trouba, fox, zib, Trocheck are the "leadership" of this group exemplifies the problems.

nobody wants to hear this but this team isn't as bad as it's playing right now. just a real tough stretch. probably terminal as far as this core is concerned.

i still sign igor kakko and miller. i think there's enough to build a good young team out of the ashes of this one.

I was here during Torts' entire run. I don't remember people critiquing him for being "mean." The main criticism I remember is that, even after the team brought in some skill/finesse players, he insisted on making them play his 5-goalie system. He refused to adjust his system to his personnel. I think he even said as much at one point.

He got fired because his players went to the FO after 2013 and said they wanted him out. Whether that was a style change or they just got tired of his antics I don’t remember.

It was a bit of a shock because they were 2 seasons removed from a ECF and just came off of a 2nd round exit after being decimated by injuries. AV had the perfect balance of bringing a more up tempo style along with plenty of the grit and effort from the torts holdovers. It wasn’t until the year after his first one where he decided to hit the idiot button and only continued to bang away at it until he was let go.

Man I really don’t miss AV.

As someone who has had serious confidence issues at work it's not fun. I've been at a decent place when I felt confident and at other jobs I didn't and felt like I was climbing a mountain with a pile of bricks in my backpack for the simplest shit. That's Mika right now times 100. But it's worse than that feels like it's entire roster other than Cuylle and Berard. I don't know how an entire team can just be in some fog where they look like they've never played hockey before. This is largely the same team as last year. I've never seen anything like this.

It is bad. Even when they are playing "well" they need elite goaltending to compete in games. That is the thing people don't want to hear. This team is just not good but the players are paid as though it's a good roster.

I can't wait for the Knicks to be devastated by injuries...because you know it's coming!

It was bc they hated the way he made them play and he was too demanding.

Sather agreed and called the team "unwatchable" with the style of hockey they were playing. He wasn't wrong at the time, but given the roster it was what they had. The only way that roster was able to compete was extreme effort and they had it built into their DNA the first couple years of AV when they were good, but as it has aged out of the franchise we are back to the country club.

Ive tuned out more this season than I ever have. There are too many nights where it honestly looks like they dont even care. Too many unlikeable personalities on this team.

Mika needs a mental health counselor or something.

I cant stand watching this team be outworked and outshot every single game.

It does seem like its at the point of no return now

I dont see how Drury makes it through this mess

And I cant believe Sams last season is gonna go this way, awful

I’m aware no one wants to hear it but I do feel a bit bad for Mika. Dude just has no answers or confidence and is very clearly fighting it

Not sure what’s going on but he is/was a fav of mine and to see him just at rock bottom sucks

You guys act like you wouldn’t do that same exact thing if you were in his shoes.

it’s honestly comical lmao
We can remove his wife from the conversation entirely. The whole premise of "Trouba didn't think about the best for New York Rangers by not wanting to get traded" is f***ing absurd, unless he was somehow a Rangers megafan despite playing professional hockey in the NHL.
