Totally true. I remember unscreened blasts from the blue line regularly beating goalies. That was Richer’s bread and butter. Goals from just outside the blueline weren’t uncommon either. Chris Osgood was famous for those.

It's weird. When the jerseys were new in 90s and early 2000s, everyone hated them, and now that they're back, a ton of people love them. I don't get the appeal at all. They've always been crap, IMO.
