Is there another PP that collectively overthinks everything as much as this group? They're trying to play chess out there when a PP really is just checkers. You have an extra man. Use the extra man. Spreading out and passing around the perimeter until someone decides to take a telegraphed one-timer does nothing to exploit the numbers advantage.
You need player movement to create isolated 2 on 1's in higher danger scoring areas.
This is why I see a coaching problem. When there's so little movement every PP, when guys are outnumbered in isolated battles in the offensive zone, when there's so little puck support for zone entries, and when you can count on 1 finger the number of Pens standard breakouts, it's a coaching issue.
