I couldn't root against Pavs, cheered for him til retirement, happy to be back hating the Stars but I'm kinda shocked at you both. (@slocal)

Unrelated as Pavs was to this game/opponent, why's he catching strays?

It wasn't like Hertl asking out & going to the worst possible soul-less destination. I'll defend Pavelski to my last breath.

On topic of the game, officiating was guff, wasn't expecting to beat Dal but we don't get crushed being behind which is refreshing. The new era Sharks show desire to win, fire in the belly, all the signs you want to see from the kids along with increasing flashes of brilliance.

Smith & Celly sharing ice time is still sphincter clenching at times but it's giving us glimpses of what looks to develop into legitimate scoring chances once they hit that level of familiarity together.
Pavelski's was worse IMO. With Hertl, the club got value out of moving him. Pavelski was offered a contract and chose to go elsewhere - and from what I've read it was about the years on the contract not the annual value. The Sharks were also still competitive at that stage (at the very tail end), so it wasn't like he moved to win a cup, whilst Hertl was basically told the club is tanking and rebuilding so if you want success you should move.

No fan should feel ill-will to either of them. They were all heart in San Jose and gave their all here. Both are still very positive about the club and the fans.

So I'm guessing no discipline for Lyubuschkin? Haven't seen anything about it getting looked at. Pretty typical DOPS bias.
Aside from the anti-sharks stuff that will get thrown out, this type of hit hasn't really been suspended in the Parros' era. It's one of many reasons he should be fired into the sun.

From what I remember, the Sharks never made a serious contract offer for Pavelski. Offering 8 million over two years is an insult...

The reported offer was 10 mil over two years that Pavelski said wasn't accurate so we don't actually know what the offer was.

I could’ve sworn there was an interview with Doug Wilson where he said he didn’t even make him an offer since it was gonna be so low it would be disrespectful.

That does sound vaguely familiar and would make sense. I'm sure if that was the case, not getting an offer at all would be disrespectful too. If we had avoided re-signing Kane then there would've been the capability of fielding a competitive offer but DW made his bet and lost spectacularly.
