My list..

Rubirosa, Lombardi’s, Tavola, Emmett’s, and Eatly.

I have tried none of those places, but I haven't lived in the city in 15 years. When I would come to visit, I always went straight to Joe's. Rubirosa looks outstanding.

I've been to these places recently, so I know they're all still good.

Joe's
Amore in Whitestone
Umberto's in New Hyde Park
DaVinci in Brooklyn
New Park in Howard Beach
Best Pizza in Amaganssett. (also has a location in Williamsburg)

New spot I just went to for the first time...Philomena's in Sunnyside. Regular slice is decent, but the square is out of this world.

Eager to try Manero's, Lucali, Juliana's & Prince Street.

I don‘t live in the city, but have a few good local places by my office in Yonkers. Rubirosa is very good.

Juliana's is a tourist trap. At the same time it is pretty amazing.

Yeah that's the rub. I certainly wouldn't wait on a line when Ignacio's is right down the street.

I've recently been to Johnnies in Mount Vernon. I liked it, but truthfully, my expectations were higher.

When I stated I haven't lived in the city, I meant the east coast at all. Living out west, especially Vegas makes one appreciate these places back here even more. Although we did have Grimaldi's out there & a place called Good Pie that is outstanding. Brooklyn guy named Vince Rotollo & his food made me feel like I was back home.

Rubirosa is incredible. If you ever happen to be driving through Staten Island, it's the same family (and pie) as Joe and Pat's.
