Why are we so abysmal defending home ice? Rogers Place isn't their fav rink to play in or something?

*double checked the stats and the Coliseum has a little worse record but the decade of darkness definitely messed with those stats! This year the Oilers are bad at home but maybe this game changes that around! Should be a good game

My guess for the line up tonight.

Podkolzin - McDavid - Draisailt
Skinner - Nuge - Perry/Kapanen
Janmark - Henrique - Brown
Caggiula - Ryan - Kapanen/Ryan

Ekholm - Bouchard
Kulak - Emberson
Dermott - Stetcher

Skinner/Pickard

I don't know who starts.

I assume Hyman and Arvidsson are out tonight.

Looks like I called the line up, but not the D

Before everyone freaks out, they're down 2 top-6 forwards and recalled caggiula, so this is the only thing that makes sense.

Getting a little worried about Arviddson at this point. Seems like a walking bandaid kind of like some predicted

Hopefully Hyman not out too long and its a bit of a mental reset for him

Might be good to have some new energy in the lineup. We suck against Minn anyway

Hopefully Eriksson Ek and Boldy are hungover and not able to dominate us

If that many holes in the forward corps, would have loved to see Philp get the opportunity.
The kid hasn't played hockey in a full calendar year, the Oilers were pretty clear that they want him to consistently play 20+ minutes a night in the AHL instead of ping-ponging back and forth to the NHL and playing 8-10 minutes a night while he's here. He'll get the call sometime in 2025, and when he does he's not going back.

In your closet
Top line stack seems reasonable given all the talented support forwards are out of the lineup.

Gonna need 29 & 97 to combine for 6+ points to have any shot in this game either way so may as well make it easier on them.

That's fair, he's small but very aggressive, this kind of thing happens. I think, even if he was close, they can stretch it out to give him a long rest.

They want him for the long haul, so if they brought him back still nicked up it could end up worse. If he doesn't come back after the little break, I'll be very concerned.

Fair enough, he just seems distinctly more equipped to play and contribute than Derek Ryan at present.

Yeah, but no. He's playing great hockey in the AHL, he should be up, but if you think you'll use Philp in the bottom-6, fine, then recall Savoie. Caggiula is silly.
