Zacka is a very good 200 ft player, why he is not appreciated in this town puzzles me. I do wish he would work on his shot accuracy, and I am sure he has, but that is my only bitch, he is willing to shoot the damm puck which some of teammates, have a problem with. I do not he looks more comfortable at center and earned from his play last year, and should have been moved, poor decision making there.

There is nothing wrong with Zacha the player, he seems to have good offensive instincts and an above average shot. Just gotta find a way to be on the score sheet a little more often when paired with Pasta. Here's hoping it will pick up in time.

Explain to me what Monty's system was out there? I sure couldn't figure it out. Players looked lost on both sides of the puck, like they had no idea where to be. One game in and that looked much better. Yes firing the coach was the right move.

Monty's system was essentially more north-south movement, carrying the puck across the blue line, and sending forwards toward the crease for attacks in bursts. In contrast under Bruce and Claude there was more of a chip up the wall to get the puck into the attacking zone and using the cycle to attack with defenseman pinching to retain possession.

Defense had largely been zone box+1 throughout the whole time though they experimented with adding some man coverage last year IIRC.

I think Sweeney's roster moves this off-season brought in guys who would suit the Julien-Cassidy system more than Monty's. Elias Lindholm would be better cycling than freewheeling, he has good vision. Zadorov should be using his size to box out and clear the crease, not chasing around his mark. You've lost guys like Hall and Debrusk whose speed was an advantage under Monty.

Sacco can't reinvent the wheel overnight, but if they simplify and start valuing possession more and stop paralyzing themselves looking for shot quality in favor of just throwing it on from any angle and getting rebounds, results will improve. It's still not a SC roster but they can do better than this for sure.

Utah goalie played very well and the Bruins lack in the finishing department, otherwise this is a rout. I liked their game for the most part. Trending upward at least

Honestly sacco has inherited a solid team on paper and it's not much to turn this around and becoming competitive. This could be a coaching issue especially the bumbling goals late in games and not closing out series properly. Under Monty he had 3 game to 1 leads and blown one and almost the blew the other . Thank goodness hampus turned into bobby orr game 7 and saved us.

Honestly...I am just an old lady next to the bench who watches and listens.

As far as Brad wearing the "C", it is totally clear he is the only one who should be the captain.

There are not as many leaders as there have been in past years. Pasta has really developed nicely into a leader as well. It has been fun to watch!

There are few leaders on this team, but Brad is a great captain. He sets up plays, speaks to players, coaches and stripes (and yes they listen to him). Also, someone who works for the Bs says he has the room.

He is getting older but IMO he still has "it". NO ONE works harder on the ice than Brad.


It isn't being a "fanboy" when you agree Brad is the best one to wear the "C" ...because he is

I like that shift last night where he blocked that shot & was hurting.But got up &;went after it behind the net .He tried to clear it before getting rubbed out on boards.Just want him to start playing better & that was a shift with some heart.

I think Carlo was third in the league in blocked shots ( last I checked ). So he's doing something... of course, some of those blocked shots turned into goals against after bouncing off him and into the net. He's had a rough start.

Yes, I like lots of guys as players but not many are leaders. Brad is.

I think Brad did a great job last year in his first year with the C and was effective with his leadership. But leadership isn't always going to be the secret ingredient to turning a team's bad performance around; there's been great leaders who have had to endure tough times because the team-wide performance was lacking. Chara's first year as a Bruin was rough. Messier had a reputation as one of the great leaders of all time... as long as history forgets about his time in Vancouver.

Hoping they play Korpi next game, he deserves it and is giving them their best chance to win.

They needed something to bring them together as a team. Maybe the firing did it, we will see.
